  • Club have clarified the situation, it's optional & you don't have to move seat, you can pay £300 & stay in your seat
  • What a joke like f@@k am I paying 530 for my ticket and crappy cross bar entry I don't want
So we either keep our seat for a reasonable price or club loses 4 st in a row that isn't full anyway!! Cos were not moving.
Only Charlton could have come up with this

You'd really stop going rather than move seat? Not having a go, I just don't seem to have the same affection for my seat.
  • will this change of mind be at the expense of others though. Looking at that sating plan if true then the vast majority of season ticket holders will be paying less next season, as far as I am concerned this can not be bad. Those who do not want to pay more can move to other seats and save them selves money.
  • No true fan would threaten not to renew over this , I would sit in the jimmy seed stand or high in the west to see Charlton every week. Some of you need to sort yourselfs out I'm shocked. Man up !
  • well been on the Charlton site and it is true, I am going to se my season ticket price drop b £200, that is great news. I can not se what the minority of season ticket holders are moaning about, when the vast majority of us will have to pay less. I take it we believe the rule of the majority here.
My complaint is that it will now be crowded where I sit, have got used having a row to myself.

really ? where is your seat that reduces by £200 ?

  • Ridiculous though it may sound, I actually don't know the name of my block. We just go in every game and sit in our seats.
Anyway, I'm either £90 better off or moving seat.
  • West upper block Q, £450 this season £250 next.

Good luck on trying to break even on next season Roland. It appears bar the Crossroads Lounge, most people are paying less!

Unless we are going to be the new "Corinthian Casuals" and not pay the players

And out of interest, how many ST holders would you guess there are in your block ?

Yeah exactly for most people season ticket prices have gone down , so why aren't more people happy , if Roland bought a few more players in jan , wouldn't people be over the moon the prices have gone down by now ? I'm very confused normally us as football fans like to pay less ??
  • Block A for me then; basic, sensible financial decision. Easy.

How is any one being shafted ?
  • I think it's great. We haven't had a season ticket for a few years now, but going to get 1 to share, if not 2 as the seats by my dad are now affordable for us in Block B.

  • Not many people will be sitting in the 2 main lower west blocks
  • could get a lot of people moving to block A in the east, could improve the atmo being closer to the away fans
  • Not many people will be sitting in the 2 main lower west blocks

Yeah they will - they've been there for donkeys years and will stay until they pop it. Including my old man.

    Block A will be ramo

Just about to place my order and save £100+ on this year's ticket............. oh hang on a minute before I go ahead will Red Division be reforming and can I stand, only I'm fed up acting my age :-)

seems as if the 5 year VIPS who are already 'down' on the deal could be shafted some more. Funny this was not announced prior to yesterdays meeting with the VIPS..

As a VIP in Block C of the East this will be me then.

Not sure what I'll do to be honest.

Although if they offer another VIP deal after this one I very much doubt I'll go near it after this latest experience. Guess they are getting my money back from the fantastic 10 Year VIP deal that started it all off.

  • Can I renew my seat now but move to another stand? Do I have to wait for the swap week or could I just either ring up or go on line and say I wanna move from North Lower to East or West stand pay by credit card and hey presto have my new seat?

I think this is very clever by the club. They must know that a lot of people will be swithering about buying/renewing due to one of/all of the following:

    1. Strapped for cash
    2. Waiting to see what league we will be in.
    3. Uncertain about the Duchatelet regime

I certainly fall into all 3 but if what Im reading is correct for where I currently sit (west block K) then I'm on the blower as soon as the commercial centre opens today to buy two adult STs. Sure the crossbars thing is a bit messy and the block A and wander to a dear seat scenario is prone to abuse but I'm suddenly 200 quid better off and prepared to commit right now when I'd have otherwise waited till the summer. Good marketing. Well done charlton for once!

    Edit

Since posting the above I have read the crossbars stuff properly. If they are seriously proposing moving people against their will that is out of order. I will buy for next year but will be making it clear when I call that it is a year on year decision and I will view mistreatment of fellow fans dimly next year when considering my own purchase even if it is in an unaffected area.
  • After all the flak regards the pricing.........for the past four years ALL season ticket holders could sit in whatever part of the ground they want(with the exception of the Jimmy Seed). Each season ticket book is the same and does not differentiate from each stand.
I have done this on numerous occasions, how stupid is that?!

No one has ever checked if its the right stand or tier. They might at least try some colour coding now for the 8 zones.
