  • Now it's worth it ! Great incentive if it's Sheff Utd away .

The incentive is much greater for Wednesday now though. As i'm sure the likes of OP will be on to tell us. The entire city will probably be buzzing over the potential quarter final now
  • Aahhhhhh. Sheff United.

What a chance we or Wednesday (not tinpot as some get offended by that) have.

Then again sheff u have turned some decent teams over.
  • puts the pressure on Wendies
  • Its the hope that kills you

Puts more pressure on Wednesday now - they will have on eye on the quarter final and we'll kick them in the other eye. Then you can't complain with a game at a league one side to get to Wembley. But it will be tough - probably tougher than Wednesday! With a trip to Wembley such a possibility - surely even more reason to bring a couple in.
  • when is the draw?
  • Where's the utd will come good bloke
  • MASSIVE pressure on Wednesday now...

  • good draw

ups pressure on wendy to choke

ummm... if liv v ars & brighton v hull don't go to replays are we guaranteed on tv on 25th?

also... when is the semi final weekend.... ahem?
  • also the media will be talking about a Sheffield derby which hopefully will wind up our lot to win
  • Where's the utd will come good bloke

The old Charlton Life prophecy has bore fruit.
  • LETS UPSET THE SHEFFIELD PARTY

This. Radio 5 are already creaming their knickers about a Sheffield derby, let's remind them there's a third team in this drawn fixture.

Good potential for two none premier league teams in the semi finals, this a great year to really push for it - such a shame we need to focus on the league too. Need those loans in ASAP to help us cope with the fixture pileup if nothing else.

Surely our game v Wendies will be televised? with no replays
  • We've got a script to burn, fellas :D
  • Arsenal 2 up.

Wednesday game bound to be on tv, we all know what that means.

How many years did it take?? ;-)
  • Fingers and everything else crossed that we can get past the Wendies and meet up with pal at United. Hope he doesn't expect us to pay for the pitch covers like Forest did though!!! ;-)

Delighted for Nigel Clough as well, beating that little troll again.

  • Don't see why we shouldn't go for it - surely CP can see the upside! A great chance for the fans to enjoy a cup run...
  • We have never lost on BT Sport

It may be on ITV :)
  • Great result and turnaround at Bramall Lane:

    - there will be a much bigger crowd at Hillsborough now (and hence more gate receipts for us)

    - if we can overcome Wednesday, we'll have a better chance of getting past the Blades than against Forest at the County Ground

    - all the media focus will be on the likely Steel City derby, which suits us and will ramp the pressure up on Wednesday (recognising that they will also have a massive incentive)

    - unless both of the two remaining ties end in draws (which is unlikely), our game at Hillsborough will be live on TV

    - Sheff Utd away would be an excellent quarter final day out.

    All very satisfactory.
  • Good news we only play Leicester and QPR in the league ahead of a potential QF on the 8th March so it shouldn't distract from the league too much.

    This......
Easy copy for the 'hacks'.... they will lap this one up, a bit like the 'Poyet father/ son ' clash if it had been us against Sunderland...... easy copy to feed the editors.
I would have preffered one of the 'big clubs' it would have made a decent match to remember..... Not sure that 2 trips to that part of the world can get anyone excited ( well not me for one) about as exciting as a 'greasy chip butty' as there crowd used to sing eh!.
My cup doth not run over..............
  • You want the big clubs in the early rounds and if you are still in it in the latter rounds, you should want the weaker clubs. Which is what we have got. We have to do something about the opportunity, but it is an opportunity that an away tie to Man City or Arsenal wouldn't have given us!
  • I've not looked at the League 1 table recently. Sheff Utd are currently 22nd. What happened to them coming good?...................
  • Can't believe I was one of the people praying for a draw away at City! Having an ACTUAL REALISTIC CHANCE of getting to the semis is far more exciting now it is upon us.
  • Brighton in the semis would be nice. Oops, getting just a tad ahead of myself.
