I thought David Sullivan (the ex leader of Lewisham not the porn baron) was a Millwall fan ,he has written books about them ,so why would he want to move them ?
The regeneration / gentrification of SE London and how this might affect both Charlton and Millwall should not go unnoticed by supporters of either club. It may be sensible for the CAS Trust to seek a dialogue with the Lions Trust, so that, mutually, we may safeguard our common interests.
In terms if practicalities, we should have a trial by combat followed by a trainspotting shootout between the two trust execs. The victor gets to stay at their own ground whereas the loser is evicted to the Nandos Pennisula Dome.
am sure both clubs could make some money selling tickets to those tantalising face-offs. Pwopa nawti
I beg to differ ,the ex leader of Lewisham Council ? I knew him in a previous life and he definitely supported Millwall , I think he may even have sat on the board representing the council for a while .
A mutual friend told me he wrote those books although I stand to be corrected on that point
Backing up what I said in my previous post a quick google helped me find this about the move from the old toolbox,it confirms that Sullivan was a Millwall director.

We have a mutual friend? Pretty sure he is wrong.
There is David Sullivan the Millwall history book writer. David Sullivan the porno vermin oddball. And David Sullivan the dodgy ex-politician who moved in to property.
The reason why the latter wants to redevelop is because he doesn't really care about Millwall and wants to earn money.

Sorry I meant I have a mutual friend of David Sullivan the ex leader of Lewisham , it is this person who told me that he wrote history books about Millwall.
I do remember the ex leader of Lewisham being not just a board member but a big supporter of Millwall when I vaguely knew him 20 years ago.
Yes, the Dave Sullivan who is part of this regeneration was the former Lewisham Mayor, lost to the current one in 2002. He was on our board in the 80's I think. He has been in property and if you search around it seems there are not glowing reports of the way he did business in politics or in property.
But he isn't the one who was born in Bermondsey and spends his time writing books on Millwall.
Today the Sullivan you knew claims to be a born & bred Man Utd fan. Doesn't make him a big Millwall nut to me.
For those who like to keep abreast of things, there's a piece about Millwall and some of the land around the stadium in today's entry in the interesting 'Transpontine' website. http://transpont.blogspot.co.uk/ The article makes reference to the CAS Trust's success in securing 'Asset of Community Value' status for The Valley. The author suggests that the Lions Trust might seek similar for The Den. BTW, the gaining of ACV status for The Valley will be acknowledged by CAFC at tomorrow's game.
Sparrows is definitely correct and I apologise for the red herring of thinking the ex Lewisham Dave Sullivan wrote the history books.
He was still a Director of Millwall and was instrumental in the move to the new Toolbox. My friend has now checked and he was wrong in his earlier assumption.
Thank God we never signed the ex Millwall loanee Colin Cameron or it might have caused a similar confusion.

I have signed it.I don't like seeing ANY football ground sold because property prices dictate.

I know it's not their fault.
