  • Hmmm, one can also say that players, acutely aware of their own shortcomings, might prefer a manager who keeps on picking them over an unknown who will evaluate them in the cold light of the day?

I love Powell but sometimes he frustrates me by continuing to select Pritchard and Jackson, it's evident that the former is a lightweight and the latter's legs gone and would be best deployed to come on from 50-60 minute onwards as he's got an instinct for goals without a doubt.

Now back to the FA2014... ;-)

I would not totally disagree. But I do think he has excellent man management skills and can get players playing for him and he gets the best out of them. I think we would all agree that he started this season with a depleted squad and we each have our own views on team selection, formation we would prefer to see, who should come on as substitute and when.

I am happy to discuss with anyone and this is one of the many joys of following a club. I just do not like the attitude that concludes that because the manager did not do what I thought best he has to be sacked and anyone who disagrees must be in some sort of love in.

I would have thought that the vast majority would agree that we are in the bottom three due to the departure of players in the summer and inadequate replacements. The fact that we are not further in the mire is a minor miracle.

If CP avoids relegation, he will truly be the Messiah.

  • I would agree with that, and I do think he gets the best out of players. I also think ultra negativity has lost us a few points - but the pros outweigh the cons.
  • Powell HAS to go. Just start a new era and a new start
  • Does Powell fail to track his runners? Does Powell not put chances in when there's a scramble? No. And we played well today, Birmingham didnt do all tht much, nothing's going for us ATM but ultimately we played better football than we have with some good new players- what more can you ask
  • how long can you actually keep saying that for? What more can you ask? You've lost the plot! Seriously wake up
  • Powell HAS to go. Just start a new era and a new start

Just how many threads are you going to post this message on?

  • Cousins on the right wing when he is a defensive midfielder. What a joke! If Green is not the solution put Wilson there and stick Neigo at the right back. If Wilson showed how good he was against Brighton then problem solved!
  • We show too much respect to opposition at home, are hesitant and cautious,we often by-pass our midfield with a long-ball and that just encourages them to attack us.We would if we played away against the same attitude.Birmingham were a very average side.I'm fed up seeing us fall to so many teams at home that we should be beating.Away from home our attitude is completely different and we have the right game-plan most times. Our system for playing at home has been wrong since we were promoted, why has this not been overcome? Why was Wood,a good defender, being given the ball so much to pass long from our half as if he is our playmaker--isn't this where the midfield takes control?
  • Very few long balls yesterday to be fair.

Ducking for cover, by genuinely thought we played better football yesterday without Yann in side. Hoof ball up and over to his head has left us in the bottom 3 anyway. Players looked like it was clicking yesterday. With Hamer and anyone but Sordell in the side we could stay up

  • You know what. I'm as angry as anyone when we lose, and main about certain things.

But, i genuinely have a hunch we will stay up this year.

I am in this thought process , I believe that there will be a change in the way things are going ,

and by attempting to play football not hitting long high hopeful passes for flick ons and second balls then it will come

  • Definite change in style yesterday. Even Thuram seemed to always look for a pass to a full-back or centre half, rather than lumping it (could also be because his kicking was wayward / wind).

However, results will take a while to follow.
  • Playing good football is a good plus, but the problem here is we are so far into the season and our team are not scoring goals, other teams have experience as a team and are scoring goals, they will beat us 9 times out of 10. We are coming up against the likes of ex-premier league players, young prospects who can run the midfield at this level.. our players are Standard Liege Reserves, young and/or inexperienced at this level.

Keep playing that football with this team we would do well in League One (especially at home with a nice smooth pitch), but will go down with not too much of a fight in Championship imo
