Bob Bolder should be a stand up comic! The man is a legend and really funny bloke. He said the play off final against Leeds at St Andrews was the best game he has played in and loved how Peter Shirtliff kicked Ian Baird in the back of the head and didn't even get sent off!! A top bloke.
Someone needs to have a word with Mr Bolder about his dress sense - that waistcoat tie combination is rather loud - and not sure about the beard either :-)
What a fantastic night, for the fans, staff and players alike.
Talking to the players you could tell some of them really did enjoy being there. I think some people assume that players all move on from football happy and content having 'lived the dream'. But the truth is that some (hopefully very few) of their careers end in heartbreak, and some of them go through tough times.
Coming back for an event such as last night is not only enjoyable, it also reaffirms for them the love that the fans have for them. It shows them that they are part of something special and the fans will never forget them.
Last night showed what a fantastic bond there is between the players and fans at Charlton, and I hope every one of the legends went home feeling genuinely appreciated and loved for the fantastic contributions they have all made to the history of our club.
What a great event, well done to all of the organisers. Looking forward to the next one
Had time to reflect further on last night and it was a cracker, excellent news for the museum and I do hope it becomes a regular event. Thanks again to everyone who worked on what was such a successful evening, not sure what Jools is going to do with a signed pic of Rafal Nadal for £250 but it went to a good cause so well done mate. Nice seats we had as well so thanks Mark.
Fantastic event and backed by CAFC and players en masse this year. Nice to see. I think we all take it for granted a little how good these affairs are going to be with Jean and Ian organising and putting in a massive shift, so well done you guys, and thanks.
And I still didn't manage to find Mark Kinsella at the end - to thank him for being first to sign up for last year's event 20 year celebration, Thanks Mark wherever you are - what a fella!
A night of enormous pride in our club, and one that should have impressed the new owner considerably (Henry, perhaps you can tell us when the time is right).
JD was great fun and only very rarely a bit off-colour - he was clearly under control. His affection for CAFC and SCP are unbounded, and there were some nice moments when he was teasing Keith Peacock.
The players were excellent. They all seemed genuinely delighted to be there, not just turning up. Best story - Dean Kiely and the Irish WC 2002 - "Roy Keane a world-class player and an economy-class person". Great respect and warmth shown to Rufus and the absent Super Clive and Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeburn. Not sure it was necessary for Darren Pitcher's name to bring out a few boos.
A fine dinner and good service. A pretty special night all round, and again, it is to be hoped that the new bosses will now know, if they didn't before, what a special club they have got on their hands.
You are spot on there it was a great night, And I would like to thank you again Alan for the ticket and drink I really enjoyed myself you are a first class man thank you.

No thanks necessary at all, young man. When you get yourself back on your feet you can take care of the tickets for 5.12.14, ok?
It was indeed a wonderful occasion for so many reasons. The new owners are truly to be envied - let's hope they don't ever need reminding.
Anyone help us with photos taken on the night with i-pads on tables we gave e-mail address but as yet not received them.Who can we speak to about this.

I've just emailed Ben K to ask about this & if I hear back before we set off for Reading, I'll pop it on here.
I've just received an email from Ben regarding the photos taken on the night, as promised on Tuesday. And I'm afraid it's NOT good news but he has requested that I cascade it to you all ASAP.
Here is the communication received yesterday :
" Sorry for only just being able to get back to you over the photos. I'm afraid I have some disappointing news regarding the photos from Sunday's event. Unfortunately the developers have been trying to extract the photos from the ipads all day and have uncovered a major problem. None of the pictures taken at the event have been stored on the ipads. Our only explanation on this is that since the IOS7 update from Apple, something has interfered with our software and now the camera is not storing the pictures as it should be on the ipad camera roll. This is something we did not foresee at all and have now had to remove the camera function off Bidtech until our software can be developed to fix this problem.
We are terribly sorry for this and any upset this has caused but we have tried absolutely everything and since this has been our first event using the camera function since the IOS7 update we never anticipated this problem. Please do rest assured that as a business we do rigorous testing on the application to ensure we are offering the best possible service. I am so sorry that this had managed to slip through the net.
Please feel free to discuss this with me further and I am truly sorry that all these photos have been lost. I hope that this has not damaged our reputation with you and that we can continue to work together going forward .
With our sincere apologies

Ben was angry & disgusted when he read the email and there has been some very frank discussions with Bidtech - they simply could not provide a service when it had not been road tested. He is totally aware that this will affect the great memories that guests will have of the night should they have taken advantage of this application ( fortunately, I had NO idea how to use it so didn't !) He states that this will inevitably lead to criticism of both himself and our Club in general but there is little he can do at this stage. However, he acknowledges that communication is key here and that making all concerned aware as quickly as possible about the issue is his prime concern.
I sincerely hope that all those that attended the dinner will agree with me that this problem could not have been foreseen and that the fault cannot be attributed to Ben. But for him, we would not have celebrated the 21st Anniversary in such great style and he should be commended for the hard work he put into the event. The word "communication" has been resurrected by this guy who is setting an example for others to follow and we should acknowledge this - long may it continue !
Well done to him for his part in organising the event. But surely someone should have checked the company providing the service could do so and further a quick check should have been done on the night to confirm it was indeed working.

As far as I know, staff from Bidtech were on hand to show guests how to operate the ipads /check out the functions etc.
IMHO there was no reason why Ben should have been involved at all on the night - it was in the hands of the "experts" ....
What a shame. But nothing he could do. Don't recall any techie people showing us how to use the iPad. We managed to work it out ourselves I suppose anyway so no biggie. Some funny pics never to be seen!

Thanks Ben for my signed Deano pic. I'll sleep with it under my pillow.
How much dosh was raised?

Not sure over all but I guestimate around £7k for the museum depending on heads and tails
he was doing the door and checking names against the list so he could direct people to tables.
Blokes comes up and KJL asks for his name
"Shirtliff"
KJL is looking down at the list and saying "sorry, i can't find a shirtliff, are the tickets under someone else's name?"
"Peter Shirtliff"
KJL looks up to see that it is indeed Peter Shirtliff.

Was loving the banter!
Can't wait for that video to be released, made hairs stand on the back of my neck.
