A great evening and very classy of Jim Davidson to save the last question as his own one for Richard Murray. I thought JD reference to the auction lot of a day at the Valley very apposite: "it comes with ribs y'all" lol
Fantastic evening. A big well done to everyone concerned. A big thanks to HI for getting some of @cholland's photos signed which will raise more funds towards the Greenwich and bexley hospice in the new year. Also a big thanks to Harry Gregory who donated 40 pounds towards the fund as well.
Thoroughly enjoyable evening made extra special by JD who is a seriously good egg !
Great to see so many Legends in one room . Surely our great Club is unique in bringing together such special fans and such iconic players in celebration of a never to be forgotten day in our history !
Serious money made for 2 fantastic causes too and thanks to all who bid in the auctions.
But most of all, a very special mention must be made of Ben Kensell who made the event possible & enthused all those concerned with the dinner from day 1.
Let's do it again next year !
( And not to forget my first meeting with Oooah ! Highlight of my evening !)
I think Deano might have been a bit miffed as he wasn't featured once in the video... Or as he said "I threw the ball out once in that video" he moved the question on to Kins. Egos need to be massaged...
An amazing night, time spent with Paul Walsh (and his Dad), Peter Shirtliff, Bob Bolder, Colin Walsh, Simon Webster , Rufus, Morts and others along with lots of other fans I haven't seen for a while. I have been falling out with Charlton for a while now but seeing my Dad's happy face tonight (and mine), I'm reminded why I love them so. And that video!
Congrats to everyone involved who worked hard to put on such a great evening. Special mention to JD who was on top form and all former players in attendance. Hope the club make this an annual event.
Fantastic evening and how funny was Jim Davidson all night, And finally got to meet Paul Mortimer which was amazing for me add on top of that great food and a free glass of drink on the way in, A night I will never forget thank you to everyone who made it possible
Great evening , plenty of banter and meeting such a lovely rare species as Fanny (a regular Charlton away fan) was the icing on the cake , well done to all the organisers , these things don't just happen
It sounds like you all had a really special evening. A much needed respite for all of you so thanks for the reports and didn't the museum do well? Great stuff.
I was hammered so not 100% sure who said it but think wit was Morts who said the best player he played with was Leeeeeeeeeeaburn .... Someones prolly written that above ......

Morts and C Walsh both said Leaburn. SCP said Jensen, Rufus and Deano. Rufus said everyone he'd played with, Sasa said Kins
But Kins paid tribute to a player who in his own words gets overlooked at these sorts of events and get togethers (hint to we organisers there) and said the best player he'd played with was Keith Jones
Youds was set up when asked who paid for the champagne on the night of the play-off final. He said that the son of a certain ex-CEO could forge Curbs signature so even though the manager had gone to bed at 10.30 with a glass of milk and a ham sandwich when he woke up he had a £12,500 bill for the bubbly.
Harry Gregory is a top bloke, very pleased to have met him.
Euell was asked if he'd like to manage Charlton one day to which he said he'd love to. The person sitting next to him (guess) wasn't so impressed with the question or the answer but all with a typical smile on his face.
Morts is looking forward to coming to Bromley Addicks on 11 December but Mickey Bennett has to go to the US for the PFA
Powell wouldn't say where he buys his suits but the caps are presents from family.
SCP was asked which of the top table guests he would like to play at Reading tomorrow and answered Colin Walsh so he could score "that" goal
Will speak to Ben K about releasing the Vid in one format or another.
Was great.
We were interviewing Ben later in the evening and he was hoping to release the footage either on DVD, or on the internet. He also was hoping to give everybody who attended last night a free copy, but that wasn't a promise, just that it was something he wanted to do, if it was possible.
What a fantastic evening and glad that I was part of it. Got some great interviews which I am sure we will release as soon as we can.
One overiding theme was that the players absolutely love coming back to the Valley, they say they have a special bond between themselves, the club and the fans, which they have not found at any other club.
Deano said Charlton was the best club he played for. he said we are comparable to West Brom in size etc but the way ex-players are treated and how close players, fans and directors are is on a different level to WBA.
He said that it is the first touch and last touch that tell you the most. He said from the first time he came he was made welcome and when he left, and he admitted he'd fallen out with Curbs, Murray and Varney made sure he left on good terms. He said it was special getting the ovation he did when he came back playing for Pompey.
Deano was asked about the "I can do I job in midfield" comment when Keane walked out on the ROI and said, as previously quoted the Keane was a "world class player and economy class person". When JD made a joke about CAFC disassociating themselves from that comment DK said "Oh, he knows what I think of him and Kins will back me up". Kins, who was sitting next to DK, was shaking his head at this point and then started laughing when Deano turned round to see what he was doing.
Bob Bolder told some funny stories all of which are too long to repeat.

Great photos
He and I got lots of signed pics and shirts which you'll all see on here.
Kins has asked me to auction a couple of shirts for him. Matchworn Ireland shirt and the shirt he wore in the 4 - 2 at Highbury.
Deano probably my favourite amongst our legends.
Fantastic video of what we have done since we got back to The Valley aswell.
Great to see the players and to have a quick word with each of them especially Rufus who is my all time hero.
Brilliant night.
Good to note the positive comments about Ben K. Hope he survives the takeover as he seems a good guy.
