There are known unknowns; that is to say, there are things that we now know we don't know.
But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not know we don't know.
  • I've also heard that there are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know.
  • I am now confused
  • I'll tell you what I know. I refrained from reading this thread against my will. Now I don't regret it.

I'm convinced that the people who are 'in the know' have just heard recycled info from here.

It's a merry go round of duff info, one rumor leads to everyone thinking they're in the know.

We can learn through this thread that no one on here is in the know. Not even slightly and if you think you are, it's probably just someone taking the piss.

As neil young would say we have all been pissing in the wind

My old man said he's wondering if Frank Dowling (Frank the Yank) has anything to do with it. Lives in Greenwich, owns half of Greenwich and meets the profile

Franks minted but not that minted, he rents half of Greenwich and is an all round knob.

Just reading the Mercury...his Inc Group, including the Trafalgar Tavern & Admiral Hardy, went into administration two weeks ago.
  • Ok, so a handful of fans have been claiming to be 'in the know' when the truth is they knew nothing but were getting a kick out of making people believe they had access to confidential information which was just made up nonsense. Give them a break. How else will they feel important in life.
  • The one things that really p*****s me off is that when MS first got involved he couldn't wait to attend supporter meetings or write lovely columns in the programme about the plans they had for the club. However, over the past year or so he has got quieter & quieter - he doesn't write in the programme anymore & hardly turns up for home games, let alone travel away.

He is out club chairman & as such he is the voice of the club. He should at least outline what the plans are for the club going forward, takeover or no takeover, esp when it comes to players contracts.

I sit in the East but my mince pies aren't good enough to see who is sitting where in the directors box but hopefully someone else will & could maybe get some sort of chant/song going. I'm not saying we need a protest but we should show TJ & MS that we are demanding to know what is going on. Its our club and we have aright to know !!

  • Enfield? I heard that too.

Because we are run by Swiss Toni & You Ain't Seen Me Roight....

    Specsavers, golfie !

Seriously, just look over to me - if I'm picking my nose with my RIGHT hand finger, he'll be in situ....not there, and it's the LEFT.

    Hope that helps.

To be fair Slater is there most games when he's not sharing a few Sangrias with his mates in the Spanish police. It's the other one who isn't.
  • "Owning a championship football club is very like making love to a beautiful woman. You buy her fine wines and Belgian chocolates, have few good times then try to sell her off to an American".

All we need next is a contribution from Stuwall and this thread surely will have reached its comic denouement.
  • What's a p.51 and why did Harris withdraw it?
  • Haven't a clue what is going on. Before any thoughts of a protest we should go through official channels. As our representatives i believe this is the kind of scenario where the trust should be prominent. Is it to early for the trust to put some questions to the board?

You are right to ask the question and I believe the time is now. Someone earlier questioned whether the Trust has reached the whole fanbase or is truly representative and the answer is quite simple:
The Trust is a year old and has reached a lot of fans since it was launched but nowhere near the whole fanbase - some fans are not interested... 0n the other hand some fans are very keen and others have signed up but do not really read emails or visit the website.
So I believe we can ask some questions and continue to engage the fanbase.
As I have said all along this is going to be a very bumpy road this season - so great if we can pull together!

What official channels? And you think that information will then flow freely do you? Good luck with that, I think Hell might freeze over first and the natives will lose patience sooner rather than later.
  • What's a p.51 and why did Harris withdraw it?

That stands for page 51 and that's the page we found out Harris had withdrawn his offer and so all the comments about it follow
  • Wosh

    Is that a truncated woooosh!

  • Take out "QPR", replace with Charlton.
Take out "Loftus Rd", replace with The Valley
Take out "London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham" replace with RLBG
    etc

Then have a look at a press release of our future...

Queens Park Rangers Football Club has unveiled plans for a new 40,000 seater stadium as part of wider plans for a major regeneration project in the Old Oak area in West London.

The club has also confirmed it has signed a letter of collaboration with the GLA and the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham to “bring forward an early and very significant private sector investment into the Old Oak Common regeneration area”.

The news follows mayor of London Boris Johnson's recent announcement that turning Old Oak into a new world-class city quarter is to be one of his main regeneration priorities, and that a Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC) is to be set up to promote it.

First Division club QPR said that alongside its partner Stadium Capital Developments it had entered into exclusivity land arrangements with Network Rail and other landowners who control major parts of Old Oak.

It plans to develop a 40,000 capacity football stadium at the heart of the regeneration area. It said the stadium would be the catalyst that will bring about the creation of a residential and commercial area covering several hundreds of acres - larger than Canary Wharf – ultimately generating 50,000 jobs and 24,000 new homes.

The scheme has the provisional title of ‘New Queens Park’.

QPR Chairman, Tony Fernandes, said: “Loftus Road is – and always will be – a special place for the club and our supporters, but we need more than an 18,000 capacity.

“With no option of expanding here, we have to look elsewhere and we welcome the Mayor’s and Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s commitment to regenerate the area, which includes an option to develop a new stadium at Old Oak as a key catalyst to bring forward redevelopment, cementing our future in this part of West London.

“Not only will this give us a top quality stadium to cater for QPR's needs as the club progresses and grows over the years ahead, but we are very excited about being the driving force behind creating one of the best new urban places in the world.

“This will be the catalyst for the regeneration of a forgotten area – ultimately bringing new transport, 24,000 homes and at least 50,000 jobs. It will create a vibrant new destination in London, boosting local businesses, attracting new visitors and tourism and creating a thriving community.”

QPR CEO, Philip Beard, added: “We look forward to working with the Mayor and local authorities and we will, of course, be consulting our loyal and passionate supporters, as well as the local community, on our exciting plans early next year. We will look to build a stadium QPR fans and local residents can be proud of.

“Loftus Road is renowned for its atmosphere and with the help of our supporters, replicating that at our new stadium will be one of our top priorities.”

The truth is that, sometimes, a business had to jettison something that has great sentimental value to progress. I am happy at The Valley and think the stadium is big enough for us, but QPR will soon become another club that has gone from having a smaller stadium than us to having a much bigger one. In the end we might have no choice...

QPR have been looking for a new site for as long as we have been out and back in at the Valley. To link it all in to the Old Oak regeneration plan is an opportunity they really cannot pass up. 40,000 is excessive of course but I am sure it will come in stages and is dependent on them getting back on the Prem Express.

It's a version of the WW2 US plane commonly known as the Mustang. It was withdrawn when it was replaced by the P52.

Was that the forerunner of the PS3?
