Latest rumour is that the Americans wanted to amalgamate Charlton and Millwall and build a ground on the pen.
I hope that's a joke.
I can't get my head around any of this. So is the summing up that the Americans expressed an interest and went through DD. TJ and MS used the SLP to plant a pile of bullshit about a British Property Group making a counter offer whilst DD was going on in order to force the hand of the Yanks. The Americans soon realised how much it'd cost to invest in us to make it worthwhile and that they were being strung along so quickly walked away. There is no other interest and never has been. No chance of any money to spend in January and most of our worthwhile players and staff out of contract next summer.
Yep that sounds like a good investment of £43m £18m. Meanwhile it's costing them a mint to keep the club running but still won't drop the asking price. Someone tell me what I'm missing.
If it smells like bullshit, looks like bullshit, has a sign on top of it that says "pile of bullshit" please post here in the CL Takeover (reality) thread...

I heard from 2 sources that the real reason Mr Harris walked away was because of a basic understanding of football in this country - or rather a lack of it. If you are used to the concept of US sport where you can't be relegated - and you then come and pump in a shed load of cash to a club over here to find you could actually lose the lot.....you'd get a squeaky bum. It's possible.
are these the same sources that said it was going to be done on the Monday,Tuesday after Ipswich, sounds like they are covering their arses after the duff info.
No. that came from a much much closer source. It was practically a done deal that went pear shaped at the last second.
I'm not saying that some people aren't ITK, but it's been bloody great reading some of the nonsense on here since the rumour first came along. The amount of 'I heard that too' and 'that's what I was told but thought I'd wait until it was confirmed' etc etc is laughable.
At the end of the day the only thing I'm sure of is that I'll still be a Charlton fan no matter who ends up running things.
If something positive comes out of this it's a bonus, but until then I'll just enjoy the show.

I'm convinced that the people who are 'in the know' have just heard recycled info from here.
It's a merry go round of duff info, one rumor leads to everyone thinking they're in the know.
We can learn through this thread that no one on here is in the know. Not even slightly and if you think you are, it's probably just someone taking the piss.
