Brilliant. After another 14 pages of speculation since the news broke on the American bid, this morning somebody suddenly remembers it has been Thanksgiving and the US has been shut down for the last five days. Sums it up, really!

There is no evidence that anyone has pulled out ( not that they were ever in ) fact quite the contrary , there seems to be another party interested.
There have always been interested parties - getting one of them over the line appears a completely different matter.
Just to be clear - I believe there are other people interested and this might just be why the US interest has faded.
Think about it - If a potentially better offer comes along but it's still to go through due diligence what would you do? Would you take the offer on the table or potentially look to get a little bit more. A sensible businessman might cut his losses and just go with the safer bet whereas a gambler (which I would think TJ is) might try to get a bit more cash out of of the deal so will take his chances of another successful DD.
This is, of course, speculation, but from the tidbits people seem to be getting and giving it does fit into this scenario.

Of course there will also be brinkmanship going on. All buying parties will want the best deal and teh sellers will want them outbidding each other. If you want to buy something and know that the seller needs to sell, you will know you are in a strong position. The position weakens when you are competing with others and this is possibly why the board planted the story in SLP. For those saying nothing is going on – I think that is highly unlikely. The problem is, it is going on to other peoples timescales and we don’t know exactly what it is. If I wanted to buy Charlton and didn’t expect competition, I would imagine the price would be better in January than it is now!

I am getting really bored with this inter board rivalry. The trouble with you posting something negative about ITV will make someone on there post something negative about CL and so it goes on. If you don't like ITV don't go on there. My advice to members of ITV, if you don't like CL don't go on here.
Here is a plea for Christmas and the New Year can we have a stop to all the unpleasantness between the two forums as it doesn't do anybody any good.

I get that it's dull always having comments about ITV on this board but I think it is worth pointing out to newer or less regular members that the deal isn't dead just because it's stated on there.
This is like waiting for test results from the clinic... You hope for the good news but u know at the back of your head you might have some awkward calls to make... ;-) just hope its not all smoke and mirrors. Would be the best crimbo present ever we get new owners with money and a plan to take us back to the top flight.
