Ground share with Palarse/Smallwall/West Spam/Orient and a new housing development in SE7 ;-)

we're all moving to the Olympic stadium ...5-team sharing arrangement ...we play on Wednesdays.
So if we were renamed Charlton Wednesday, would that make us massive?

    That DEFINITELY can't happen, TEL

    Players have Wednesdays off ....

    What-even in Sheffield?
  • doth my cap to the donny rovers fan who predicted that by the time the replay happens we will have new mega rich owners...

forgot all about that what a potential great heads up that was

Before a 40000 seater stadium can be built the transport logistic will need to be sorted imagine the following:- In 15 years time 40000 football fans leaving this new stadium after watching Chalton play Barcelona in the Champions league at the same time as 20000 One Direction fans leaving the O2 after their come back concert. Its bad enough at the moment leaving the O2. :-)

Just started getting excited then you have to go and tell me that "One Direction" will still be going in 2028.

All skint having done their dosh on gold digging wives, law suits and toot, they finally decide to start talking to each other after ten years in order to make a few bob on the re-union trail...

They generally tend to have Saturday off up there :)
  • I still keep clicking. There's still f*** all here.
  • we urge the public to come forward - someone out there knows who this man is - for the sake of those suffering from not being 'in the know' or part of the clique please step forward with information. All posts with be treated with utmost confidentiality and only shared with a few hundred even thinking Lifers.
  • Richard Marchant ......... ?
  • someone convince me this is not going to turn out as exactly a repeat of what happened to Coventy.

    please....

Someone asked why would a property company go to such efforts to develop the valley when the pennisula has space for development....

all the signs are that RBG quite fancy a nandos dome style ground at the pennisula

in order to do this they would want to remove the existing historical asset of community pride and all the background that has gone with it.

the site could then be redeveloped and all us bothersome fans relocated away from residential area

i see no reason a property company would buy the club if it wasnt for the land.

    so;

    1. Start saving up because in 18 months time we will need the cash to bid against thd property company

    2. Dust off that fighting spirit because Another political campaign may become necessary.

i have always thought that 2 sharks such as tj and ms would only back a sure thing. Now u dont turn down ANY offer for a loss making entity unless ur holding onto some game changing info.

that info could well by tj and ms knowledge of the position and battle plan of RBG.

    someone say it aint so.

if this happened i couldnt put a single ounce of my time into condoning any team called Charlton playing anywhere other than VFR.

    Ha, I work for them.

    No chance.

I know the senior execs in Chicago pretty well at JLL and 0 chance I would say. But as was earlier said, I have heard that the company is not British based as well, but that doesn't mean anything. In Bermuda there are thousands of companies domiciled here that one would assume are British domiciled!
  • the duke brothers..

chill out a bit, we have no clue yet and you are worried about a worst case scenario. If it happens, fans will get together ...at this stage its wait and see.
  • If only the "insiders" were still at the club"..................................
  • Im chilled...its not a rant and i didnt mean to come across like that. You are right that ive relayed a worst case scenario by connecting some factors that are current, relevant and very much up.in the air at the moment

it genuinely worries me. I would be absolutely crushed if we ever moved grounds on any basis than a democratic decision by the fanbase. I appreciate not everyone may feel as strongly on this issue but i do.

I think people see "property company" and start googling.

Jones Lang are a Real Estate SERVICES firm. Not a "property company" like British Land/ Land Sec etc etc....

Unless it would be one of the pension funds LaSalle IM manage but i highly doubt it.

Don't worry Calydon road, there are a few of us that will not go quietly, in fact some of us will not go at all......
But, let us wait and see who these buyers are....... My money is on an 'american consortium'.
Do not wish to be negative, but a 'yank from a bank'......mind you it should make an interesting couple of lines for a
    covered end song?.

  • I think that although it is not directly (yet) linked to the potential takeover the subject of The Valley shouldn't be far away from any Charlton supporter.

We are not any team that may move from our ground, we are Charlton Athletic and are special because of ours and The Valley's history.

Change colours, nickname, badge or manager for all I care but our true identity lies within our historical ground.

You can't fall in love with a ground...sadly - Man City, Arsenal, Brighton have all moved successfully - why not us??
  • Saw these in the club shop.

    Definitely American!
