a full light ale cup in the 70,s seemed to turn rotherham fans into fallout victims,of course a hammer helped, only kidding guys,i know how innocent you all are in 2016
Driving from Stowe to Cape Cod today I crawled through Boston and realised where Somerville was! (Great city btw!)
I Intend to quaff a few on the Cape - any particularly outstanding ones you would suggest trying?
I'm not much of a Cape visitor. I don't understand the appeal. It's also a bit of a beer desert, not a lot of local breweries. But if you do find anything from Devils Purse, give it a try. I've had a couple of their beers, and they are very good. They are in South Dennis. I've only ever seen there stuff in bottles.
Did you go to Alchemist in Stowe for a Heady? Or Prohibition Pig down the road in Waterbury? Great bar, best wings I've had.
I had a taste of an amber "foreign" lager this evening which I haven't experienced for some time.
Had a few pints of the stuff as I was at a function and it was all they had on, but I can't say I'd recommend it. Barely got a buzz off it and it only seemed to make me want to keep going for a wee - much more than usual
Can't quite recall the name now. From the Southern Hemisphere I think, possibly Australia. Maybe something like Fotsers?

Went into shop just outside of Waterbury but not sure of the name - produced their own cider (having be dragged around a certain Ice cream factory! - Cherry Garcia did make me chuckle!).
Have had a couple of passable pales - including Whale Tail Pale Ale from Nantucket - Will keep an eye out for the Devils Purse.
Frustrating to whizz through Maine, Vermont and NH - truly stunning and deservesd months IMO .
@SuedeAdidas - I managed 6 pints of Elvis Juice (on draft at The Mitre) a few months back and have no recollection of leaving the pub...got a couple of cans in my beer fridge now...for my money it's one of their best..
Anyone had a go at Brewdog Elvis Juice? Grapefruit IPA.....
Had one last night (also from Majestic). It's nice. Quite citrusy but didn't pick up much on the grapefruit myself. In that style I prefer the Beavertown orange thing.
Just back from West Coast of Canada. Some absolutely brilliant beers (and wine) out there, went to a number of breweries and sampled a lot. Favourites were from Phillips on Vancouver Island and the Grizzly Paw in Canmore. Was so refreshing going into any bar or restaurant knowing you weren't going to get served overpriced, mass produced crap.
@Jints - I not so sure on the 'Bloody 'Ell' from Beavertown (if that is one you mean)...it's very heavy, especially compared to Elvis Juice.... My taste buds are knackered and I really struggle with trying to get the orange out of it.. It's a good beer but I can't manage more than two... There are some cracking IPAs out there at the moment...Oddbins in Blackheath is a good place to start, as is BeerHawk, Eebria and a Saturday on the Bermondsey Beer Mile... I pledged to support Beatnikz Brewery on Crowdfunder this morning...new London based brewery...if you want to support the scene, check it out...lots of levels of investment with different rewards... Cheers

You're probably right, I could well be misremembering the Bloody 'Ell, it's been a while.
I live in West Norwood and I'm blessed with places to buy beer nearby with a number of decent breweries within a couple of miles (Gypsy Hill, London Beer Factory, Bullfinch, Canopy), good specialist retailers in Streatham and East Dulwich and a bunch of good pubs who care about their beer.

Neck oil? That's been my current favourite for a while.

No I was thinking of Bloddy 'Ell.
Neck Oil is a session IPA, and very nice too. Have to say Beavertown are probably my favourite London brewery, especially Gamma Ray and the smoked porter.
Any recommendations for good beer pubs around Vauxhall station?
Anywhere along the arches opposite the Security Service building? I think if you head away from the station there might be a pun or two under the arches.
I know there's a gay sauna, a dodgy little club next door and a few cafes. I seem to recall a pub too though?

Estrella
Kronenbourg
All luvvvverley. Up yours beer snobs.
Not much difference - but it'll have to be so cold you can't taste it.
;o)
Grapefruit IPA.....
They plopped an orange slice in it, not sure what it added (except for plenty of femininity) but it sure was nice!
Majestic's beer selection has improved a lot recently - had some nice Fourpure IPA from there the other day.

Will check out Beatnikz, thanks.
