  • JOHN HIGGINS WELSH OPEN CHAMPION

    Welsh Open
    Final
    John Higgins 9-7 Barry Hawkins
  • Hawkins should have won the 14th to go 7-7, that was the key. He had a straightforward brown to get on the blue and finished on the wrong side. That's the difference between the very top players like Higgins and the rest.
  • reminder to any interested to watch 424 sky , freesports tv. Pool started at 7 i haven't started watching yet so give it a bash.
  • Didnt really update this for the below reasons.

Tournement started Friday ended today meaning they had loads of tables all the way through.

Most of top 16 pulled out

    Crowd levels were rubbish

I expect it will not be played next season.

    But anyway

Ryan Day beat Cao Yupeng 4-0 In Gibralter Open Final
  • Romanian Masters started today non ranking event with 12 of the top 16

    Ali Carter 4-0 Mark Williams
    Stephen Maguire 4-0 Mark King
    Stuart Bingham 4-3 Neil Robertson

Mark Selby is currently 1-0 being to Liang Wenbo looking like 2-0 King

    Tomorrow is
    John Higgins v Anthony McGill
    Barry Hawkins v Ryan Day
    Mark Allen v Kyren Wilson
    Judd Trump v Luca Brecel
  • Didn't even realise this was going on until like Tuesday when i saw Mark Williams tweet about getting bashed by Captain Carter. odd one semi strong field but not really heard much about it.

    1st year this year
Romania held the European Masters in 2016 and have been speaking to World Snooker since then about having a Romanian Masters.

Mark Selby lost 4-2 in the end to Liang
    So
    Carter
    Maguire
    Bingham
    Wenbo
    First 4 names through

Ryan Day beat Barry Hawkins 4-2 earlier today and next match is the all Scottish affair between Higgins and McGill
  • Haven't had access to data for 12 days now so been hard to keep up to date or post updates.

    Anyway Romanian Masters final
Stuart Bingham v Ryan Day (going for his 2nd win in a row)

Bingham got of to a 4-0 start at mid session interval.
    But session finished
    Stuart Bingham 5-4 Ryan Day

    It's currently
    Stuart Bingham 6-6 Ryan Day
1 more frame before mid session interval in final session
  • ROMANIAN MASTERS CHAMPION IS
    RYAN DAY
  • Day was 4-0 behind
And 8-7 behind but won the final 3 frames

Back to Back Tournaments for Day now and 3 for the season.

Bingham did win the High break prize with a 137 in the first round

The Players Championship starts in Llandudno tomorrow.

Will be interetsing to see who turns up,

Kyren Wilson due to play on opening night but has had 2 planes cancelled and is stuck in Romania, so he is doubtful he will make it.

Mark Williams due to play on Tuesdau is apparently snowed in and hasn't been able to leave since Saturday so he is not sure either.

Not seen any tweets about other players journeys but Shaun Murphy is still a doubt with the injury that has kept him out of the last 2 events

    Luca Brecel V Neil Robertson

    Judd Trump V Stephen Maguire

John Higgins v Anthony McGill(3rd meeting between these 2 already in 2018)

  • @paulie8290 - how many qualifying rounds would the senior winner have to get thru to reach Crucible ?
  • I only saw the last three frames of Ronnie's match last night but he didn't look as imperious as the 6-1 scoreline might suggest.

@paulie8290 - how many qualifying rounds would the senior winner have to get thru to reach Crucible ?

Rules were changed a couple of years ago meaning everyone plays 3 qualifying rounds, it doesnt matter if u are 17th in the world or 100th, everyone enters in 1st qualifying
  • Would love Stephen Hendry to make it back to the crucible, there is a chance but not a great chance for me. He played Ronnie over a few days in exhibitions last year and didn't do too bad so if he wants it enough? Would be great to see him back, but even the qualifies there are so many tough matches now.

  • John Parrott pulled and was replaced by Lee Richardson (for some reason the website wasnt updated)

    So first match is
    Lee Richardson v Cao Kaisheng

    1st seniors game finished

    Cao Kaisheng 3-2 Lee Richardson

Lee Richardson was 2-0 up Kaisheng pulled it back to 2-1 before Richardson took the lead in the 4th, Richardson then gave 51 points away from a foul (the angle was clearly not there) and Kaisheng levelled before Kaosheng then won the blackball shoot out in the 5th (in seniors if it goes 2-2 a blackball shootout decides the winner)

Richards is currently beating Johnson 1-0
  • No wonder he lost if he started drinking Mead in the 4th frame
