    Whats confusing
7 players all play each other once
The 2 players that finish bottom 2 leave the tournement
The top 4 go into the semi finals
The losing semi finalists and finalist join the player who finished 5th and 3 new players in the next group.
The winner goes into the winners group
  • but how far down do you keep adding another 3 new players to for the next group ?

And doesn't that mean those who were in the very first group can lose multiple times, but the 3 added in the very last group only have that one chance ?
  • Deliberately losing in the semi final or final and entering the next group and repeat can win you a lot more money too.

I think i said on here before, also one year the person who won it Bingham possibly or Trump got to the final every group then lost rinse repeat won the final one and then the final and pocketed alot of money that way. I am sure Paulie might know the proper stats, but sounded like they used the system as you used to get paid per frame won/ breaks.
  • Its only £100.per frame won in Groups and £300 in semi/final

Plus if they win the group they get £3,000

In a first the 3 format anyone can beat anyone, all it takes is a bad day(for.example Trump hasnt won a match today)

I dont think players would throw away a £3,000 prize and risk having 1 bad day and losing the top prize of 10,00 for a few extra thousand(also as a non ranking event, it doesnt help there rankings to get a few extra thousand) and personally I think integrity of Snooker is better than that

Yes technically the people in Group 1 have 7 chances, but those in group 7 only get 1

Wide open one this, Shaun Murphy / Trump probably have the best chance but could be anyone.

After Trump struggled yesterday and Allen left.
after the poor season he has had so far i decided this was gonna kick him on and put a few quid on Selby at 10/3

Really fearful for his chances to retain the world title now.
