I'm with Large on this, and like many of my posts on this subject previously... I like Danny but he hasn't grabbed one of his sporadic chances. One of the only times he did was after coming on as sub.... And he was back on the bench after that for one game then disappeared.

I would love Danny Green to deliver , and deliver consistentantly , i don't think he's really grabbed his chance at Charlton , and dictated play / scored enough goals , or created enough chances in this division.

I would love nothing more than him to come good , but he has not lived up to the hype sadly , maybe i'm being too harsh , and people will say he's not had enough game time , but if i was in the position of handing out new contracts , he'd have to sharpen us his act severely to earn a new one, and other players / management would be ahead of him in the queue at the moment, i'd hope...

Danny Green is a decent enough player to have on our bench. I don't think we should be looking to get rid of him, but I don't think he's good enough to warrant a place in the starting XI. Whether he plays for us or elsewhere, I wish him well.

If anyone knows how to fight for the club it's Danny Green,
he started his career with us and was let go at 15.

You're a poet and you know it !

D'ya know what I mean, his shorts are always clean....like Mr Sheen.

    Booyakashack!
  • In my fantasy world, Danny Green has been an unwanted free agent on FIFA14 for the last 5 seasons now since I let him leave The Valley. Asked to leave Charlton because he wasn't even making the bench..... Anyway back to reality - sorry but Danny Green is shit IMHO

Sometimes Charlton Life is not a very forgiving and nurturing site.
  • Always very divided opinion on here about Green but the majority of the view that he's not good enough and should go. Much the same was being said about Stephens a few weeks ago but now he's one of the first names on the team sheets. Whatever SCP did to rejuvenate Stephens I wish he'd do the same to Green!

Been saying for weeks Pritchard needs to be moved to CM and let Danny Green down the right he has not had the chance to prove himself

So if Pritch moves into the middle, who is he gonna replace, Cousins or Stephens? not forgetting that Jackson is now back fighting for a place.
Really don't know how many chances we need to give Green to convince to final 5% that he's not up to the required standard...............

This thread should be in the jokes thread

  • If Danny Green played 46 games in a season, was made captain, failed to do anything and then dropped there would STILL be people saying he hasn't had his chance.

Even this season I felt like Danny could turn it around. I think I might have finally given up though. He'll occasionally play well, make a positive run, put in a decent cross, hammer a decent shot on goal. It's all too rare though and he's a luxury we can't afford at this level. Our unstoppable League One team was the perfect team for him - we'd probably win anyway so his mistakes and quiet games had little impact - and even then he couldn't offer enough to convince. Probably best for him to sign for a L1 team with a small stadium and little expectation. He certainly gives up on himself too quickly to play for a side like us and we're not even very big

Didn't we have a player called Danny Green not so long back?

Oh, it's the same one? Really?

I was optimistic for Green but he blew his chances and is not consistently play-able. He can have a great game once in a blue moon but it's not enough and Powell's judgement on him is probably the right call. He might go elsewhere and be great good luck to him in that sense I hope he makes the most out of his abilities but it doesn't look like he has a future with us.

He would make a much better impact sub than the Duracell bunny Pritchard who cannot manage to lift a ball higher than the first defenders knees! Pritch has his assets but making a game changing contribution in the last 10 minutes is probably not one of them.

Although he did make the winner at Birmingham last time out, which kinda changed the game from a draw to a win.
