I don't think he can say that he hasn't been given a chance. He has been given a few and not taken them. He may or may not get another - if he does, it is up to him to make the most of it!
True, but some of those "chances" amount to just the odd game or two here and there, not really enough for a player to settle into the team and show his best form. At the start of last season it was generally agreed that for the first 5/6 games he was our best player, which had many on here eating humble pie. Then he got injured and never quite found the same form again. I think he has a lot of talent, but needs to improve defensively and find more consistency like most wingers, he'll only get that with more game time.

That can't be right - he didn't play in the first 4 games...
If anyone knows how to fight for the club it's Danny Green, he started his career with us and was let go at 15. This boy hasn't had the run of the green but he is a fighter with natural born talent and it amazes me how Chrissy Powell continues to overlook him.
He has all the attributes for a top 10 premiership club so why are we ignoring him?
Burst of pace, can use both feet, can whip dangerous balls into the box 24/7 and works his socks off for the team.
If we have a realistic hope of promotion this year, we need Greeny back in the team. He is our ticket to the glory land that is the Barclays Premier League. If we cannot give him the time he needs, I fear a big club that can utilize his abilities like Everton, Southampton or even one of the top 5/6 will.
Come on Chris, come to your senses!
Hmmm, Joe you are either Danny himself or his agent... Based on your wildly inaccurate comments, I can only assume you've never actually seem Danny play in a Charlton shirt?!... Very funny though, keep it up!
Sure Danny Green can occaisonally show a high level of skill and ability - but these flashes of ability are intermittent and he just does play at the level of intensity and concentration to deliver for a full game. Unless he is willing to fix these problems then the best we could hope for at this level would be as an impact substitute.
Also he's a bit of a chocolate teapot when it comes to defensive duties.
On his day he can be a match-winner. I remember how well he played against Fulham in the Cup. The trouble is, on his off-days he's totally ineffective for 90 minutes, and on these days the manager would be justified in subbing him after 20 minutes. Waste of talent.
It's up to all you WUM brandishers how you look at the Danny Green post. We all have opinions, mine seems to be slightly different to yours. Doesn't mean I'm wrong! Roy Hodgson seems to have the opinion that James Milner is in the top 18 English players which IMO is crazy.

James Milner can play anywhere in midfield and will do it with no fuss and consistently well. Any manager would want him in their team imo.
Now I like Danny Green and feel he would be just what we need, especially at home, if we are to open up and play a little more expansively. That being said, he has had his chances and not delivered any consistency. Is he Championship quality? probably for the likes of a Doncaster or Yeovil, is he top six in premier league, definitely not.

I do think he has more to offer but he has had the chances so noone to blame but himself/yourself
He will likely end up in league 1, waste in my opinion but same as waggy has not shown any consistency
Have another go. What about Simon Church for Barcelona ?
