If the same article, word for word, had been penned by Kav there would have been a lot of awed appreciation from the CL chorus line. It is a bit boring, but people want to know what is going on, and they tried to address that. He works in the office, he's not a 20 goal a year centre forward.
You're far too sensible to be posting here :-)
Since you have decided to compare Kavanagh's actions and interaction with fans with Prothero's (not me but you remember) let's do that.
Kav wrote regular articles in the programme something MP has still not done.
Kav attended Fans Fourm and Target40k meetings with fans on a regular basis
Kav attended Fan Q + As at the Valley and elsewhere , often alongside Slater and others. Prothero hasn't.
I am not sure we are looking for a carbon copy of whatever happened 5 or 10 years ago. What I can see is more articles in the programme, middle managers visiting supporter meetings and a more responsive attitude to issues like Addicks Place

Who is the "we" you speak for?
I wasn't asking for a carbon copy of 5 or 10 years ago. As I made clear others wanted to make that comparison although when you make the comparison Prothero comes out of it worse, in my opinion at least. I don't see the point in constantly looking back although some reference to what has gone before does give context. I'd rather look at what the current people do and don't do but you and others have chosen to make the comparison so it's only reasonable I give my view.
I don't think there are more articles in the programme. There are less, in my opinion. As I said MP is still to write an article for the programme and it has taken him over a year to be interviewed.
"middle managers visiting supporter meetings"? How many of these have taken place then? There is one this month as I know as I organised it but that Bradshaw and Kensell can make a meeting only highlights that Prothero, for whatever reason, can't. And yes, Prothero and Slater were also invited this year as they were last year. They are under no obligation to attend but it was you who cited this as a positive, not me.
"More responsive attitude to issues like Addicks Place" Yet people were saying that until it was mentioned on here the response had been poor. And before you say it I praised Ben Kensell for responding when he did to the Fans Forum member (Fanny/Jean) who raised it with him. The current management deserve praise also for retaining the Fans Forum set up in Waggot's time and carried on in the Kavenagh era.
As you think the response is better now please give some examples of how it has improved? How many more articles are there in the programme? How many supporter meetings have middle managers attended?
Henry I sense we are at a tipping point...Steve Bradshaw and Ben Kensell will be visiting not just Bromley but other branches too... It is clear that elements of the club read this site and choose to respond through actions as we have all seen and articles are starting to appear... Not enough for some and no idea what is to follow but definitely more than July/August I really think there is a discussion to be had as to what is a sufficient l!evel of communication...I suspect that you and I would agree that we should hear a tad more from the board

Remember, your comparison not mine
Maybe Prothero is too busy running the company to take time out to meet and greet....

"will be visiting other branches" - Not seen any of those meetings mentioned so can't comment but your first post suggested this was already happening rather than something that could happen some time in an unspecified future.

Perhaps but as you said yourself no one works non-stop in their job so how can he be too busy : - )

And you don't respond to my other questions.
Ashford 7th November I believe
sometimes less is more? They are starting to reach out...is it enough? How do we define what makes sense on the comms side?
Do we all agree that a statement from the board is overdue? Remember that Martin Prothero is the one on the board who does not own equity!
i will happily say that ...in my humble, unconsidered and emotive opinion... the fella is nicking a living.
i would happily say that about most executives in football that receive a net pay. im not talking about the fellas at lower levels who give their time and money mostly because they support their team. so they do it to get a bit of kudos in the local community...but as long as they put in the effort or the money then i have no problem with that.
my beef is with this new style of executive in football...and the reason i have a beef with it is because of the shocking, corrupt and unethical way in which most clubs conduct themselves. sure many businessess are also run in such a shambolic way but football clubs are the worst - bigtime. executives that countenance rippping off local businessess, not paying their taxes and finally allowing the moron culture to fester.
any industry that looks to the mighty Peter Kenyon, Gary Cook and Charles Green as captains is a sheet ship.
dont even get me started on the governing bodies. bloody hell i was watching the Basel game...wow we have cloned Blatter and call him Platini now. geezer has literally morphed into a replica of Sepp "Capone" Blatter
No one is forcing you, or anyone else, to believe anything.
Correct. But when someone writes with certainty that something is true, despite there being any evidence to substantiate it, apart from their own name, then I feel the need to question. I thought the old adage was..'not until it's on the OS'? But apparently that only works when Henry wants to make a point.

It's up to you. If I had said we had paid a fee for him and I was wrong you would have been happy to believe me but because the fact doesn't sit with your world view you don't. That is your privilege but you have put yourself in a no-lose situation. You choose to take everything Prothero says to be true and stick up for him, ignoring my response choosing to focus on one aspect ie the Button transfer.
But it is your choice as to how much validity you give to my comments.
We all stand together. There's a frog in my awning dear LIza, dear Liza
it's only about 6 cms long but makes an incredible noise- I just thought I would write something totally inconsequential as I don't handle arguments too well :-) Love and peace to all ....................

Out of interest, have you ever met Maybe Baby ? I suspect once you've polished off your third bottle of white you two would get on well :-)

Sorry, can't reveal my sources so you can choose to believe me or not. But it was someone with links to Spurs, no one at Charlton now or previously.

Keep it up Martin is what I say.
Some pretty serious investment in our youth for a board that supposedly doesn't care about the clubs roots or future.
current board are still cnuts and enemy to me though
