Work starting to demolish Rushden and Diamonds ground nene park, only about ten years old holds around 6k, what a shame to see it end this way but at least they're carrying on as an AFC, and looking to rebuild a smaller more affordable home.

I saw Welling play there in our old purple and green 3rd kit. Bizarre really. That ground was the best non league I've been to. That Griggs fella spent fortunes on it, total waste to let it rot and die.

Living so close to the ground, I dreamed of Charlton playing there, had I put 2+2 together I would have been there, and bought a round or 2.
Excellent performance by Hamlet last night in the FA trophy beating Braintree of Conference Premier 5-2, game had everything from lots of goals, a bizarre own goal for Hamlets 2nd (Keeper clears against defenders head and the ball loops back into the goal) To a sending off, well done Hamlet .. Macclesfield on the 25th at Champion Hill.
Must be insane, going to the dog n duck today, Rushden/Diamonds playing someone, no idea who but drink will be taken and no doubt we'll moan about the cold, please don't end 0-0.
Well hello Mr Mehmet. I had the pleasure of listening to some plank telling anyone who would listen, why Sunderland people shouldn't have voted brexit because of the Nissan plant. At least it is a terrace and you can move elsewhere. Did your daughter get to wave a flag? Or was it an excuse to talk to MGs daughter:-)

She didn't get to wave the flag (don't need an excuse to speak to MG's daughter!)
Big match at home for Hamlet on Saturday as they take on Macclesfield in the FA Trophy Quarter Final. Macclesfield of the conference premier two leagues up on Hamlet. Think it is 1980 the last time Hamlet got this far.
Bulldozers taking Nene Park down as I write, last ditch attempts to save and get Rushden back predictably failed. At least the afc version survives and is rebuilding.

Ok first sign of CL madness quoting your own post.
Anyway, Hamlet went 2-0 down at Champion Hill, only to equalise in around the 80th minute and narrowly failing to get the winner.
The replay was held last night but Hamlet went down 2-0, but a sterling job done by the players.

I went up there - having not been on a football coach since the Full Members' Cup final, I did two in four days, getting dropped off in Camberwell at 3am...
It was an entertaining but frustrating match, Macc's two goals came within a couple of minutes of sloppy defending. (The first goal is worth a watch - Facebook link). Dulwich matched them for much of the second half but couldn't get a breakthrough. Cracking atmosphere and Macclesfield is a great town for pubs, though.
I went to Sutton v York last week. Good attendance of over 2000, Nicky Bailey scored a cracking volley then Sutton were further helped by a comical own goal.
Ended up 2-2 with York scoring a free kick in the last minute. I'm aiming to tick off Maidstone, Dover and Woking fairly soon.

Anyway, scrappy game but a win is a win I guess.
