Is it really though? Is there a possibility that the club's owners have deliberately engineered these situations so that they get the confidentially agreements they want and effectively gag people from telling something else? A conspiracy theory, I know and I have nothing to back it up but it does seem to be a possibly.
But they could have got the same result through a proper process.
My guess is that Rick can't speak about the specifics of the case. That shouldn't stop him writing about how we play against Watford, whether Powell is doing a good job or praising Prothero.

I was also there today (in a private capacity) and it was noticeable that it was the respondent's representative who approached AB at least twice to discuss the terms in a consultation room, not AB approaching the club reps and seeking to withdraw his claim. I therefore would say that AB will feel vindicated even if perhaps not wholly satisfied. I did wonder if an agreement was in the air (because of the approaches) but had to leave before lunch so was not present for the damp squib which followed.
For anyone who is not familiar with the area where the Tribunal sits, it is a shithole down past West Croydon station. The only amusing diversion during the morning were the sounds emanating from the 'EasyGym' which (with Lidl) sits directly beneath the Tribunal. Judicial hearings were taking place to the sound of a heavy thudding beat and some woman screeching at overweight Nigelettes. On reflection the heavy thudding may have been the weight transfer from one mountainous leg to the other. I suspect that most cases get compromised just to avoid having to endure that noise and to have some residual hearing at the end of the case.
I hope AB can move on and prosper in his new career.

It saddens me to think that AB has done nothing wrong in this scenario and he loses his livelihood all because someone in power doesn't like him. The owners and management have a lot to answer for, IMO. The pay-off isn't gonna last forever.

I went to CAFC after I was made redundant, about a year later probably, for a chat regarding a possible role that was available and was asked not to post on here full stop about anything. Even non football related.
In my time working at the club, as far as I was aware I was fully trusted by my seniors at the time, well, certainly for the first year anyway, under my first boss, with the confidential information that I was privvy to on a daily basis. Even my husband wasn't aware we'd signed players until he read it online, let alone wages, plans etc etc despite me witnessing signatures on their contracts and preparing packs for the board meetings etc. There are still things to this day I know about the club from that time that I've never mentioned to anyone. This was before the takeover too I think.
Found it quite insulting and shocking that they thought I'd breach confidentiality actually. To do my job you have to have trust. I hoped though it was just fear of the 'interweb' with a non-techy savvy HR person. Now someone is going to find some post from me in 2008 that could completely undermine everything I've just said :-)
I guess it's different at Rick doesn't work for the club anymore, and not an employee, so they can't essentially tell him what he can and can't do, but I wouldn't put it past them to try!
Anyway, hope everything works out for Rick and his family.

A result of boredom setting in I would imagine but some could think it might create audience for future details, insights and opinions.
I suppose the possibility that he is really worried about the direction of the club he has given most of his waking time to since the mid 80s, would be out of the question?

I think thats why most wanted the club to lose the case as we no nothing. Most of us hoped that durring the case we would hear something about the inner workings of what seems to be a slowly failing club!

I doubt anyone not directly involved knows the full details (and the 'facts' will vary depending who you speak to) but as it is certain that there is a 'gagging' clause we will all have to guess. I think PL54 does some validity in the points he makes albeit I disagree with his/her wording.

Pretty ironic that the date from the Tribunal came up as today, illustrative of our off pitch focus.
