First team is expected to play & it's a new ground !
Victoria, Clapham Junction, Norbiton or Waterloo to Norbiton about half hour. Trains every 15 mins.
Also near to the ground on Cambridge Road going towards Kingston, is the Blue Bar at the Sir Robert Peel Pub. This pub features strippers of the '£1 coin in the glass variety."
I'll go down a bit earlier and have a shufty at Kingston itself. Apart from the Sir Robert Peel for tit & bum (see details above), the real-ale drinkers among us may care to investigate two entries in this year's Good Beer Guide: the Willoughby Arms, in Willoughby Road (various small breweries) and the Wych Elm, in Elm Road (Fuller's tied). They are a stone's throw from each other and only about 20 minutes' walk from the ground.
Definitely going along to this one. I expect he'll take a big squad and give a lot of players a half each.
Although it's only a few stops down the line from us, i don't really know the pubs around there and Kingston's not up to much in that respect. We thought we'd try Woodies in New Maldon, which gets good reviews in "Beer in the Evening" and appears to serve some decent real ales ( albeit it's about 25 minutes from the ground ). Then maybe a pre-match pint in the club house in the main stand. Not been before but they are a friendly bunch, I think .
Called up Blue Bar and due to midweek licensing laws it's unlikely they'll be open before 7. I tried telling them that the Charlton boys will be in town but they were having none of it.
The Robert Peel pub below it looks alright, will probably head in there then it's 5 minutes to the ground.

Went in there before the game three summers ago, talk about upset my beer, they had strippers!
On-trial defender Richard Wood could again get the chance to impress across the capital while Powell looks set to run the rule over striker Adamo Coulibaly.
The 31-year-old, who has most recently been playing for Debrecen in Hungary, has been on trial at Sparrows Lane during the week, and The Valley boss admitted: “He’s someone that has been on our radar for a long time.
“Phil Chapple and Roger Cross from our scouting department have seen him. Roger saw him play in Belgium for his Hungarian side and we just felt now was the right time to bring him in.
“He is French speaking, but his English is good. You would like him a bit longer as he hasn’t done much training, and that’s my only worry.
“We’ve got him for this week and he looks OK, but is obviously a little bit behind us. I’m going to have to throw him in as really I need to see what he’s about.
“The reports are good, his scoring record is good and we will take a look at him and take it from there.”
M25 Junction 10, take the A3 northbound into London. At the exit for New Malden/Worcester Park, turn off and take the left into Malden Road (A2043) towards Kingston. Follow this to the next roundabout. Take the first exit into Kingston Road (A2043 still) and Kingsmeadow is one mile on the left.
From Central London: Take the A3 out of London, exiting at New Malden/Worcester Park. Cross over the A3, and take the Malden Road (A2043) towards Kingston. Follow this to the next roundabout. Take the first exit into Kingston Road (A2043 still) and Kingsmeadow is one mile on the left.
There is limited parking available at the ground and, for Saturday games, to be sure of a space you need to arrive before 2.15 pm at the latest. Parking in adjacent streets can be tight as it is a residential area.
The nearest railway station to the ground is Norbiton, which is about a 15 minute walk away. The station is served by trains from London Waterloo via Clapham Junction and Wimbledon.
Leave the station via the back exit (Westbound platform), and take the first left onto Norbiton Avenue. At the end of the avenue, turn right Gloucester Road, and at the end of Gloucester Road turn left into Cambridge Road. The main entrance to Kingsmeadow is 400 yards down on the right, with the away entrance a little further on past this on the right hand side and is well sign posted. Thanks to John Woodruff for providing the directions.
Dave Nathan adds; 'New Malden station is also in walking distance of the ground. This may be a preferred route for away fans as there are better pubs in New Malden namely Bar Malden and the Glasshouse both outside New Malden station and The Fountain at the Fountain Roundabout. Come out of New Malden station and follow the High Street to the left, and proceed up to the Fountain Roundabout. At the roundabout turn right into Kingston Road towards Kingston ( or jump on a 131 bus) and the ground is a good mile on the left after passing under the railway bridge and Homebase on your right. This will take about 25 minutes to walk'.
