Another name for the would ya thread?
  • According to my Cov pal, an impressive League One centre half, might be a bit questionable at Champ level. A decent squad player to have.

    So Matt Taylor basically !
  • Morrison and Dervite as first choice for me with Wood and Cort as back up.

How many full games have you seen Wood play ?
  • Has Wood actually signed for us yet?

my thoughts exactly. But younger, left footed and more experienced at Champ level. Would complete our CBs

the above BWP article says he has trained since Tues and will play today
  • Has Wood actually signed for us yet?

    No. He's on trial.

As we said about Llera.............reading the old press reports from when he left you lot, he was the only decent player you had towards the end of your spell in the championship.
  • lol i'd be amazed if he can cut it in this league.

    Bit like Morrison then.

  • No seriously you can do way better then Richard Wood imo, he does pop up with the odd goal but iirc he will give too many fouls away, costly ones at that.

If he does do well then fair play, totally turned his career around from league one, after all he left us for better things lol.
  • and if he signs for us then he will have left your lot for better things piggy

    You just described Miguel Llera.

  • Alriitte me old nthn mucka

Hows tricks OP are you looking forward to the new season glad to see you back on here

Whats the gossip from the nth you expecting big things or happy to stay up again

Whats going on in the red side of the city are you laughing your piggy plums off at them still
  • Not bad NLA and cheers for the sentiments, not much going on really in terms of transfers, Maghoma looks a real prospect but it's still early days yet, but when you look at other clubs though, there hasn't been that much spent in this league, lots of frees etc. I'd be happy with a top half finish with the prospect of a Play off push.

Over at the pig end of town, I think they'll do well to get into the play offs, they had a glorious chance last season and blew it yet again, this season they have Wolves, Bristol City and Peterboro to challenge them, much harder.

    What about yourselves?

  • Pretty much the same mate tbh although sometimes on here its like owls talk with the doom and gloom we aint signed anyone panic

I think once business starts to move and we start to get the players in we will once again be competing for the same position in the league

I am hoping sheff u still screw it up for comedy value and the way they continued to stick by the scumbag rapist and play him regatdless

Should be good to cross sword with beak again this season bring it on pal

  • "Wood was nothing but an excellent professional during his time with the Sky Blues and deserves the opportunity to show that he can still do a job at a higher level.3

  • He has a big presence about him at CB.
    Big guy, very vocal.

We should sign him to replace Matt Taylor.

    Cort/Morro/DD/Wood - that's the CB's covered for the season.

There are so many players without a club at the moment, I reckon he would be happy in a squad role.
  • Didn't know anything about him but my Wednesday mate reliable informs me they used to chant...

    He's blue, he's white,
    he hates the piggy s**te,
    Richard Wood, Richard Wood

    We could adapt that! ;-)
  • lol i'd be amazed if he can cut it in this league.

some of you don't like OP me I reckon he is alright and he is bang on the money based on last nights performance

Richard Wood deal with #cafc could be done by the end of the day. Will be a one-year contract.
