  • Former massives and Coventry centre back
  • Previously played for the massives and most recently Coventry. Defender.
  • Passes the CL height test at 6' 3"

Cue the "why are we looking at defenders when we need strikers" remarks. We need both and you don't have to sign players in a certain order.
  • "We don't need any more defenders.. we have an u20 nigerian international with no league experience and a guy from the Irish league who hasn't played a league game...."

  • Experienced centre back.Squad replacement/upgrade for Taylor?Does anyone know if he is left footed?
  • Dick Wood.

  • It is fair to say that you dont have to bring players in a particular order. He is a definite upgrade on Taylor, and with Morrison, Dervite, Wood and Cort that gives us a nice bunch of 4 very strong CBs. He is at a good age too. Both Ajayi and Feely are promising as well - but need loan time at L1 level ASAP to help them push on.

This is actually positive to me. He is an obvious Champ standard player - and if we are looking at CB's that are Champ standard (and have the financial flex to do that) then it goes without saying that we must have the financial flex to look at strikers that are obviously a more pressing concern.

  • Sorry but this guy is just trading on his reputation.

?? Don't know much about him - what reputation?

We certainly need a 4th CB, I can't see him being 1st choice though, so he'd be more a 'bringing in cover' type of signing, rather than someone to improve the best 11.
  • Dick Wood.

    Billy Boner?

    How many times?
  • Just looked him up:

Richard Wood (MP) (died 1682), Welsh politician who sat in the House of Commons, 1646–1648.

Lots of experience but lacks movement and lies deep.

Just reading what Coventry fans have said about him and it sounds like he's a no nonsense, strong, commited centre back. Can be dangerous from set pieces as well apparently.

No harm in getting him in and seeing what he's all about.

Dont agree with all the 'wont get excited' stuff. I was excited when Fuller joined and not excited when Yann signed. Look how that turned out. Will take each player as they come once ive seen them in a charlton shirt a few times.

    Sod that

How can you go from supporting Leeds to Wednesday, thought that was against the law up there.
  • A good player, I presume that with Coventry in deep financial trouble that they simply cannot afford to keep him.

Unless they get their ground back Coventry are going to be playing their home matches at Sixfields in Northampton.

Don't write him of prematurely just because he is dead and Welsh. We may still be short of numbers and he won't demand a big salary being from the 17th century.

Maybe he can play up front with Yann in a zombie mode.

  • Think he scored against us when we won 3-2 in first season in Championship? Were 2-0 down at half time and then Reid and Iwelumo (2) scored.

    Gatland would still pick him!!

    ;-)
  • He sounds OK to me .. we need cover at centre back despite the 'juniors' we have on the books. Cort is surely nearing career end, Dervite may be going going gone and that only leaves Morrison. 27 years old, well over 100 league games, six foot three, no nonsense Yorkshireman .. sign here .. unless you want too much in wages !

This! Sounds like a right plank.
  • 28 tomorrow, so he should be in his prime. I agree with Henry Irving that there doesn't have to be any order in the signings.............but 1 striker before Saturday would be nice.
  • Lincsaddick - what do you mean when you say Dervite may be off?
