Would you pay £60 to see Charlton v Real Madrid in a Pre Season Friendly ?

I most definitely wouldn't.

  • I probably would if they were definitely playing a strong team.

Charlton or Real Madrid? : )
  • I'd certainly stream it.
  • Absolutely, definitely, certainly and unequivocally - NO!
  • My initial feeling was no way am I prepared to pay that but I know that I'll start justifying it soon...if only on the basis that I'll never get a chance to walk to a Real Madrid game again. Plus I pay a lot more than that for an average home game! See I've already started...

Will be lot of interest from the armchair Premiership supporters down here I reckon who wouldn't know Simon Francis if he sliced a clearance into their family jewels.
  • Yeah if they were playing a strong team I would.
  • If it was in Madrid 100%
    At home, most probably
  • I probably wouldn't pay it for a Champions League game. Pre-season friendly, you are fecking joking.
  • Even the Rothschilds would struggle to justify paying that price.

  • Not a chance!
  • Yes as long as there was reasonable kids prices . My boys would love to see Ronaldo live.

I would definitely seek the address of the man who supplies the very strong drugs to those who think that Real Madrid would play a strong team against us in a pre season friendly.

Bournemouth are charging kids £30 for this "celebratory exhibition match". Celebratory all the way to the bank.

Well I wouldn't pay £30 for kids tickets. Definately not .

In the friendlies that Brazil/Argentina etc etc play against completely random teams it's in their contract that they must play strong teams (hence you had the ridiculous situation last year that saw Neymar play a friendly in Sweden and then a league game for Santos the next day). If we were being charged £60 I would like to think it would be in order to subsidise a large fee which would command a strong team. So not as crazy as you might think.

I refer the Honorable gentleman to my last....
  • No, I wouldn't.
  • Yes and I'm pretty certain most would too no matter how much they would moan about it.

Real Madrid are arguably the most illustrious and successful club in the history of football. If you wouldn't pay good money to see them play at your own clubs home ground in a once in a lifetime situation, then you've got to be mad.

Just football fans having another moan even though Bournemouth have actually pulled off something incredible by getting them to play down there in the first place.

Paint me pink and call me Mandy.

  • No.

And I think Bournemouth will find their fans won't either
  • As a one off treat , if they had a strong team out including Ronaldo , then yes.

Would i pay £60 to see Charlton play Real Madrid away?

By the time you put the cost of flights & somewhere to stay , then probably not, as times it by 4 and i'll have to sell the house!

So it would therefore be a lot cheaper to see Charlton play Real Madrid at the Valley , but neither option is ever going to happen right?

I've seen Ronaldo play at The Valley
I've seen Alonso (the Xabi version) play at The Valley
I've seen Modric play against us
I've seen various others of their 'Galaticos' past and present play at The Valley (Woodgate, Ruud, Owen, Beckham etc...)
Having them all in a white shirt playing under the Real name doesn't do it for me.

I'd still be looking at our own team thinking "why havent we signed any bloody strikers yet?"
  • Not sure.

My initial reaction was "not for £55" but then my wife said "how much would you pay to see Real Madrid?"

55 plus another 25 for Henry jnr for what no matter how strong they team is still a friendly is silly money. Be interesting to see how well it sells.

Would pay no problem for a competititive game

Disgusting that Inter have given Palace the elbow ; - )
  • No. No friendly is worth that.
