Decent refurb on the Jolly Millers along Mayplace Road West, Bexleyheath although don't think it's finished yet.
Went for a quick one on Saturday afternoon and ended up staying for five.
Had the added bonus of sport being on TV with the sound down so that you could listen to the music playing but still watch the sport if you wanted.
When I first went in there - about 1988 - that was a decent pub with a central bar and serving nice food. Years later I went in and they'd ripped that bar out along with all the nice decor and lighting, put a bar along the back wall along with some terrible lighting and a carpet that didn't quite fit. It all looked a bit tatty. I don't know what possessed them to ruin the nice cosy pub that it was.
Great beer and food before it closed and had Sky Football. Was full of the local Blackheath/Greenwich hipsters and yuppies giving it "yah yah yah" though. Lots of Spurs.
Was a great pub and one of only a handful of pubs in the area that showed live sports and served decent food. Hope the new owners deliver more of the same.

This was my pub of choice for a couple season's. Only problem was that leaving the pub at about 2.30 meant you travelled to Charlton with a train load of pissed up away fan's.

Couldn't stand the place cos of those hipster lot and the place stank. If the smell wasn't too nasty and the hipsters got over their self entitlement then you have a decent boozer.
Edit: only one area smelt. Main bar area seemed fine.

That is very funny(give yourself a promote). Mrs Elfs would like to know why I am in tears of laughter, am I supplying or importing from here? Please pm should the conversation need to go further.
One objection said: “Woolwich Road is an unsuitable location for a beer garden as it is a narrow street and quiet in the evening.”
Quiet in the evening? I was in the Rose the other evening and spent half the evening dealing with crack heads and shoplifters selling pretty much anything that wasn’t screwed down from M&S.

Nothing wrong with an old banger mate.
A pub in Greenwich which closed in 2022 looks set to reopen under new management.
The Vanbrugh near Maze Hill station has seen a sign placed up in its window advertising new management.

Went to this one last Sunday, if this can survive the overheads must be very low.

This place is alright for a pub out here, 3 minutes walk from Cuiabá football ground.
