I think the problem is that he has lots of attributes but falls short in a couple of areas. As a winger, he doesn't really beat people, doesn't have any tricks and his crossing is variable, but he is tidy, industrious and certainly knows where the goal is. So you think, maybe his position is through the middle- possibly playing behind a striker, but whilst he knows where the goal is, he doesn't get involved enough in the play when he plays that position. Possibly because he hasn't played there enough. He currently lacks the savvy of a central forward.
I think he can improve, and I suspect that if he is going to make the step - it will be more centrally. As a wide man he is just short of the Championship.
We could keep him as a very good back up, but that isn't fair on the lad.
Scott needs first team football at this stage of his career. A fresh start else where is needed for him IMO. Always gave 100%. Hope he gets a move to a decent club. All the best Waggy

My sentiments entirely. No surprise really as I posted on here after I met him at the Wolves game that he desperately wanted first team football.......... as did Ceddy. Both smashing lads.
he's the players equivalent of Parky , lovely bloke, tries his best, got to play for us cos we were not that good, gives his all and more to the cause but just isn't good enough for where we need to be heading . hope he has as much success and more as Parky has had since leaving us

Think Waggy needs to drop down to L1 to prove himself. Needs to get a good run of games under his belt. No idea what his best position is but he's not cut out to play wide.
Waggy gives everything when he plays BUT that isn't enough as CP recognises. He isn't quite quick enough to escape defenders, he isn't tricky enough to fool defenders, he isn't strong enough to ride defenders challenges and he isn't brave enough to tackle the opposition. He has a good clean strike and has plenty of energy but is he better than Pritchard? Not in my book and Pritchard has just risen from non-league which shows how he has overtaken Waggy. Compare and contrast him with Harriott and you can see the difference. Scott is a very decent, honest dedicated professional footballer but at this level you need more but I truly hope he finds success.
Can't see us getting as good a squad player for similar money.
Agreed.
Me too. Don't feel he has been given a chance this season - not a single start on the right. Very sad to see him go and wish him all the very best. I love SCP to bits too, but he undoubtedly has a ruthless streak.
I wish him all the best, good lad. It's a shame but it seems as though he isn't in CP plans and so for Scott it's probably for the best that he moves on.

Do we need another right midfield squad player though? We already have Wilson, Green and Pritch who all play there. I don't think we will sign a direct replacement for him this summer.

Hope he can get another champ club.
Top bloke
Thanks for everything, Waggy. You're a good pro and decent footballer.
The best of you is yet to come.
Good luck!

Think it is a little classless really when after 15 years of service to the club that's the only comment you can offer for the lad.
Good luck Scott, will always be getting a big cheer down The Valley when you come back.
