  • League one is his level, IMO. Always gave 100% and would be excellent in a Orient/MK Dons type of side.

Has anyone actually said he's leaving?

    Thought not..................

He told me himself on Thursday!

yes told me on thursday as well, had already spoken to SCP regarding the situation

  • Did not pull up any trees at orient this year, their fans pleased to see the back of him. To develop he needs to be less predictable, although he did seeem to have stopped falling over whenever he had the ball. Great servant of the club but we need to be moving forward and adding quality to the squad, not romancing about players that have served their time.

He's already been there and they didn't play him

It's your view and of course you are entitled to it but I found your post completely charmless.

  • Don't we need to upgrade him SHG?
    ;-)
  • Gills might take him. Local lad and l1 is probably his level
  • It would be unfair not to let him go. He can more than do a job for us as a squad player but sometimes you have to do what is right for the player himself.
  • He's going to someone in the League 1 play-offs... Told me as such yesterday. My guess is Brentford.
  • Love Waggy! Want him to stay, but also wish him well in furthering his career. Will keep my eye on his progress.

Good luck and best wishes to him.

  • I like Waggy but writing was on the wall with him not even getting on the subs benches. He has a good attitude and I think will do well elsewhere, good luck to him and I hope he finds a club that suits him.

Agreed. He once told me that he doesn't read the websites as he finds it hard to read some of the stuff and who can blame him.

Yeah, the spelling and grammar can be absolutely atrocious at times... ;)

In all seriousness though, that's very sad to hear.
  • I'll be sad to see him go. He is the kind of player we want at CAFC imo. I wish him all the best wherever he goes.
  • Should never have been pictured in a tranmere shirt

Always came across as a lovely fella and wish him all the best but effort and hard work can only get you so far and he's got as far as he could with Charlton

    In SCP we trust
  • Waggy is a very good player. I prefer him to Wilson. Wish he would stay. Wish him all the best.
  • All the best Scott.
  • Headless chicken, LLoyd Sam mould. Gt rid!!
  • Rude.
He has been at the club since 11 I think? And that's all you have to say ?
  • Sort him/her out b

Loyal servant deserves first team football at championship club

  • Wonder why players aren't always 100 per cent loyal when "supporters" are so often classless pricks. Sorry to see him go, hope it works out well for him.

Exactly. There are some on here who are happy to describe players as 'dogshit'. Some people need to stop and think.
  • Good luck to him, great servant to the club, always gave his all and probably knows he needs to move on to progress his career, personally think he's Championship quality. Always came across as a top bloke as well.
  • Deffo going, was very open about it at POTY. Will be common knowlege about which team shortly.
We wish you the best Waggy.
  • Always a bit sad to see one of the club's youngsters needing to move to another club, but that is the nature of the life of pro footballers. He always seems a totally genuine fella, great engine with an eye for a goal. He will do well with the right club at L1 level and will always get a big cheer if he comes back to the valley for another team one day.
  • Personally think ability wise he's not quite where we need him to be and because of that he wouldn't get the game time he needs to develop. It's a shame because he's a Charlton boy and clearly a very likeable young man but his career is probably better served elsewhere.

Pritch seems to be growing into the right midfield role and I think goals will come from him soon enough and he's already getting more assists than Waggy has ever done.

I'd be happy to keep him as a squad player, but Powell likes Wilson (who has the added value of positional versatility) and seems to prefer the enigmatic flair of Green as an option off the bench (every chance Green will be off too I would imagine). Waggy's path to the first team is to congested at Charlton and I think it will be best for both parties that he is allowed to leave and pursue his career elsewhere.

Very best of luck to him though.
  • This is sad news, wherever he goes he will always be one of us.
  • Gutted he's going. He will do very very well somewhere else.

One of ours and a top guy as well.

Wherever he ends up ( even at the scum or shithurst) I wish him well.
