Wolves would be a big scalp and day out for many league one teams. It seems that many Wolves fans are accepting their fate. There was a large number streaming out of the ground at 2-1, even with the ridiculous 6 minutes of additional time. They have got to beat Burnley next week and that may not even be enough.
With the derbies, there can't be that many times when Wolves have played Walsall or Shrewsbury lately.
Wonder what would have happened a year ago if you'd said to Wolves' fans - You can either keep Mick McCarthy who has experience and know how or sack him and be in the bottom three of the Championship in a year's time with Dean Saunders as your manager what they would have gone for? His comments after? - " Football is a cruel game. Both their goals were scrambled, it's a kick in the teeth" No! You're shit!
For a team where they are in the league, the lack of urgency and interest defied belief. Got exactly what they deserved. Doyle is a class act in my opinion but he looked like a player whose agent has already told him he's got him a move next season. Even his goal only creeped in off the inside of the post despite him being unmarked five yards out. As for Hunt someone needs to give him a taste of his own medicine sometime to see how he likes it.
As for us I was impressed with Dervite who looks like he's getting better every week. Gower needed that game time and I guess only SCP knows whether he wants him for next season. He sees him in training every week and we don't. Would be happy for Obika to sign up in the summer though. He plays like a man with something to prove - the sort of player who Curbs liked to bring to the club.
Wolves are a team made in the image of one man, stand up Michael McCarthy. It's like some alien force picked Wolverhampton up and moved them to Yorkshire, where kick n rush is still appreciated. To say that Wolves are dire would be the understatement of the season and yet we're all doing it because how else can you describe them? We were hustled, harried and bullied from the first whistle to the last and yet never cracked, we were kicked pulled, pushed and blocked at every turn and yet we still won. We never had a great day but, you can only play the teams that are put in front of you and it was the style of play that was in front of us that made the match so dire. We were mentally stronger even without our talisman and captain and that is an achievement in itself.
Sadly, Wolves are only sitting third from bottom on goal difference, thanks to our demolition of Barnsley, otherwise they would be one place lower and that bit more likely to be playing in league one next season. Oh the irony if that 0-6 result keeps then in the Championship, I would happily rewind and lose 1-0 if it meant Wolves were not with us next season. They epitomise everything I dislike in football, they kill it as a spectator sport and revel in the murkier side of the game, I do so hope it's tat tar to them.
As for our last two games, I think much will depend on the reappearance of the casualties from yesterday's game, let's hope both are ok! At least they'll have the satisfaction of knowing the ones that put them out never left with any points. NB. Jackson must learn to fall over when kicked in the penalty area!
I hope they go down, awful team with awful players. They will seriously struggle in league 1 due to the fact that in that league it isn't about skill, its about commitment and fight, two things which they haven't got.
Look at these pearlers taken from that bitter, bitter, board of whinging Yam Yams.
"Charlton were there for the taking yesterday, don't let the league table lie. They are a poor side, any half decent team yesterday would have put them to the sword."
"Thats the impression I got from people who went. That we were far too negative and any half decent side would have beaten Charlton who looked poor."
"The fact that we lost still rankles with me right now. Charlton were woeful, the fact that they are even in the top half shows you what a poor League this is."
"We werent beaten by the better team today."
Also, apparently there was only one team going to win that game yesteraday - and they didn't mean us!
Dervite is another with a knack of scoring vital/useful goals as well as rapidly improving to become a very decent central defender .. does anyone know his contract situation |?
Off to division 3 with them and a dose of reality. Might do them some good, although the Massives still have a lofty opinion of themselves despite all that, must be a norvern thing.

Signed a one year deal - whether it has an option for a second year I've no idea.

Thing is this league although competitive and close is a poor league there are so many teams in it of the same standard the term anyone can beat anyone is very apt
We were a poor team yesterday I don't think anyone could doubt that however losing Hughes and JJ was the main reason
I think they are right a decent outfit would've beaten us its just that they are possibly the worse team I have seen down the valley in a while and I Include most of the lge 1 sides that visited
Wolves deserve to be bottom 3 they deserve to go down good riddance to bad rubbish
And take that walking pot of brylcream with them I have never like Saunders and dont think I ever will
That final play-off place is still possible. Fancy us to beat Boro and Bristol City so it boils down to Forest and Leicester drawing their final game together and draws for their other games ..... and a draw and loss for Bolton....... and we make the playoffs. Could even catch Palace on goal difference as they are on a bad run and could definitely lose their last two.
Unlikely, I know, but 2 spaces technically achievable still!

I was looking at that this morning - the results needed from the other teams are certainly feasible apart from I can't see Bolton doing anything but winning their last game of the season. Still, it would be nice to go into the last game with a feint hope.
Ever our greatest fans, Manish and Leroy, don't give us a chance. Let's just enjoy the last couple of games and look forward to the promotion push next season.
Wolves are in the bottom 3 on merit, we beat them yesterday and should have beat them away when they were just as crap as yesterday! The truth is they brought us down to their level, dirty mugs! They are right, the table doesn`t lie, we are 9th they are in the bottom 3 and heading downwards hopefully. Worst team at the Valley this season although a close run thing with Birmingham!
Anyway, who gives a s**t about poxy Wolves, let`s concentrate on us and our brilliant finish to a long and very demanding season!
Mediocre game when Hughes went off. We need a midfielder in the summer who is going to be a tad younger than Jackson or Hughes and as strong as Fuller and as fast as Pritchard. Hope Hughes is available against Middlesbrough. Jackson looked tired. Fuller is a maestro at getting free kicks. We need a decent centre back in the summer. Wolves were poor given parachute payments and we have got some momentum which we really need to continue for the remaining games. Obika should start instead of Fuller next game.
Mediocre is kind. I thought it was terrible, but still with some good individual perfomrances, mostly from our defenders and substitutes. Solly, Wiggins and Dervite were impressive. Harriot was first half but was as poor as everybody else in 2nd.
I thought Fuller and Kermo spent too much time complaining to the ref over very little. I don't like it. Yann was especially guilty of moaning and sulking when he could have been competing. Sometimes he could do with being a little less, well, French.

Yann defo had a touch of the Racons giving it the shoulders!
Strange that any Charlton fan would say that yesterday was the worst we had played at home all season as claimed on the Wolves forum! I can think of one or two.
"I should add, stood in the antigallican after the game the Charlton fan stood next to us said to his mate "that's the worst we've played at home all season". We are that bad we couldn't at least get a draw!"
scrappy win but I reckon we deserved it. Morrison had a few hiccups that I rarely see from him, and apart from ben hamers awful judgement for the wolves goal, I thought he did quite well. I dont think I saw wolves do anything with the ball apart from the 45 yarder, the goal and a lot of long throw ins
Great to win what was a scrappy game. Heard Dean Saunders on the radio talking about how great the team spirit is at Wolves and this current team will compete for promotion next season. Well he may be right about that but on that performance it will be from League 1 as they were pants. As for Steve Hunt, the goal keeper terminator, a right narky, dirty little bastard if I ever saw one.
3 points is 3 points but utter chuff football on display from both teams Harriot and dervitte stood out for me amongst a lot of guff Wolves were heartless for a team in their situation

Glad Charlton are far away from all that.

Pathetic whining bunch. Hope they get relegated.
