Does anyone know who is out of contract at the end of the searson and of those who would you want to keep?. I will start off with a no brainer Callum Harriott must stay!.
Evina - Stay Waggy - Go (with slight regret) Kerkar - Go Dervite - Stay Taylor - Stay Haynes - Stay BWP - Go Fuller - Go Cort - Stay Harriott - Stay Sullivan - Go Hughes - player/coach? Seems v good behind the scenes.
dont think we can keep all of Devitte, Cort and Taylor. I would like to see 2 stay and one go if we can bring in another CB who is better and going to improve the starting 11.
Evina - Stay Waggy - Not sure. Like to keep home grown talent but can he progress. Not sure SCP rates him either. Kerkar - Go Dervite - Stay Taylor - Go Haynes - Stay BWP - Not sure Fuller - Go Cort - Go Harriott - Stay Sullivan - Go Hughes - Go (unless being kept behind the scene but thanks a lot for what you have done Hughesy)
Evina -stay Waggy- Go - Love Waggy but think he needs to be palying week in week out now. Kerkar- Go Dervite- Stay Taylor- Stay Haynes- Stay BWP- Go Fuller- Not sure Cort- Go Harriott- Stay Sullivan- Go Hughes- Stay
Evina –Think Chrissy will try to keep him, but he may wish to go in the knowledge that Wiggins is a clear no1 for that position. Waggy - Go – probably realises that he needs football at his age and will go to a league one side Kerkar – Go had high hopes, but not the answer Dervite - Stay Taylor – Stay – has proven he can do a job as back up -Is he happy to be back up Haynes - Stay BWP – Go – We know it is all over but I feel sad because I know he has it in him. Fuller – Go – If he was being paid less a definite stay, but we need to free up his wages to acquire somebody who is less injury prone and can get a few more goals for us. Cort – Stay - Has another year in him Harriott – Stay – most definitely Sullivan – Go – You can only keep a reserve keeper for so long Hughes – Stay – Age against him, but wages are probably reasonable.
Think we also need to sort out those contracts who expire in 2014 in the summer. Cant say I would be to happy letting the below run down into there last year.
I would say that whilst Haynes has shown a few glimpses of magic this season I think he is far too injury prone and a drain on valuable resources.
If a cure can be found for his hamstring problems then by all means keep him as I am sure he could grab 15 - 20 goals a season with a regular run in the team under his belt but I just cannot see this happening. The injuries have blighted his career at all his previous clubs so I think this is something he has to carry around with him unfortunately.
I think Fuller is past it now. Again he has done it in fits and starts but not consistent enough to justify his reported high wages. I think his shoulder injury is going to force him into retirement unless it is sorted.
Evina - Stay Waggy - Stay Kerkar - Go Dervite - Stay Taylor - Stay Haynes - Stay (Impact sub) BWP - Go Fuller - Stay (If he gets fully fit for next year could be a big player) Cort - Stay Harriott - Stay Sullivan - Go Hughes - Stay
Evina -stay Waggy- stay Kerkar- Go Dervite- Not sure Taylor - Stay Haynes - Stay BWP - Go Fuller- Stay (as long as we can viably afford to keep him on) Cort- Stay Harriott- Stay Sullivan- Go Hughes- Not sure (a week and a half ago would have been a definite no from 99% of people I'd imagine)
Evina - Stay Waggy - Go Kerkar - Go Dervite - Stay Taylor - Go Haynes - Go BWP - Go Fuller - Stay Cort - Go Harriott - Stay Sullivan - Go Hughes - Stay
In every part of the pitch we need either improved consistency/performance or new blood. A lot depends upon how big the budget might be for the overall squad, and for replacements and how many games are expected from younger players. If the board are serious about pushing for the play-offs then I expect only half of the list will stay - tops. Any player who has played in the Premier League or has secured promotion to it should be able to add something to the overall squad even if they don't make 40+ appearances.
Evina- Stay Waggy- Stay Kerkar- Go Dervite- Stay Taylor- Go, unfortunately Haynes- Stay BWP- Go Fuller- Stay Cort- Stay Harriott- Stay Sullivan- Go Hughes- Stay, get him involved in more backroom stuff
Is there a list anywhere of who's out of contract, including the youngsters. For example, I read somewhere that Jordan Cousins' contract runs out in June. It might be unfair, but he doesn't seem to have made the breakthrough that many people were hoping for.
Evina -stay Waggy- stay Kerkar- undecided Dervite- Stay Taylor- Go Haynes- if his non-appearance vs Leeds was injury then go BWP- Go Fuller- Go Cort- Go Harriott- Stay Sullivan- Go Hughes- Stay (as coach/emergency)
No way would I ever be happy with one single proven striker at the club. Smith I have very high hopes for but with the kind of budget we'd be operating any striker available would be a gamble, and two or three of them is taking a massive chance. Azeez doesn't look particularly prolific, Smith has a decent record in lower leagues but so did Leon Clarke. Any striker available cheap is cheap for a reason.
