the email post above is very convincing, there is no way a spanner would've have spelt some of those words correctly.

disagree. He has now given us all his private email address. What a berk. Must be Millwall ;-))

    no, seriously I believe him.

Why would a west ham fan be so desperate to attend charlton vs millwall? Honestly!? That just doesn't sit right with me.

The extent you are going to is way to far for a game which means nothing to you.

yes, you have my private email address and other personal information, i hope it doesnt come back to bite me in the ass.
  • A Spanner at a Hindu wedding? He'd implode.
    I think he's genuine.

i love sports in general and english football specifically. as i am in town for only a few days and the west ham match is at a time when i cant go (due to my flight back home) the only match in london that i think would be fun to bring a friend to for his first match is charlton. someone suggest orient, dagenham or brentford which was helpful but i dont think that the atmosphere or stadium are enough to really interest my friend who has never seen a soccer match live.

He either American or a very crafty Millwall fan - I mean who seriously uses the term "ass" over here?

As if a genuine millwall fan could muster the intelligence to organise a transatlantic journey!!
  • no, thats not me. since my email address is ethang (first name ethan, last name gobetz) i get a lot of email for other people with the first name ethan and last name starting with a g.

he'll probably never want to see another one.

my point exactly. another friend, the one who is currently getting married, went to a west ham match for his first match and became a west ham fan. i have a number of other friends who went to a good first match and became fans for life of the sport. thats what im hoping for here. a fun time out for me and my girlfriend and maybe getting a friend into the game. thats all.

You won't be able to get tickets for this game, you should find another one.

Anyway, those who believe him, stop arguing with other Addicks. Help him out and buy him some tickets. If he;'s genuine you have nothing to lose.

unfortunately this is my only option. if it doesnt work out, so be it, but its not going to be through lack of effort from me.

    i like this idea!
  • Not had any luck trawling the web... Worst comes to worst I'd get a ticket in the away end at Brentford, the layout helps a good atmosphere and you have a pub on each corner of the ground.
  • This game wouldnt be too fun mate, you can understand all the hesitation here.. this game is going to be barraged with police and any millwall fans in the home end getting found out won't end in a shaking of hands.

You're best off trying another match tbh
  • sorry that was my hotel itinerary which i was also going to post, here is my flight itinerary

Why is there a tampon on the side of your ticket ?

Agree with this. The next time you're in town come and join us for a less volatile game.
  • He works for a Media Agency so is unlikely to be from Bermondsey.

that time of the month for me.

    just kidding.

i tried blacking out my record locator but it was still copying through so i covered it up with a paper towel that was on my desk.

yes, a media agency in NYC. i can provide business cards or my corporate email as well if that helps?
  • I doubt he's too bothered by the police or a volatile game as he was originally planning to go to Chelsea v West ham until it got moved to sunday
  • i now believe you ttwd.

your hotel itinerary shows "oversized shower" which is compulsory for an American.
  • Tom ur right should always be those Bermondsey Pikeys or c==nts.

Anyhow back to the point i waited in ASDA car park last night till 2AM and he didnt show.

Clearly he was smashing up some hairdressers somewhere ------defo a Spanner.

i didnt even realize there was an oversized shower. i admit i am definitely a few pounds overweight so i wont complain about the extra room in the shower

ive only been to one Millwall match and that was at Upton Park, last February

  • I think it's pretty obvious that your story checks out.

Now i would help but I got my ticket as i usually do which is through someone else’s season ticket. They and other people i know have maxed out on tickets for friends and family.

so anyone else want to help the bloke out?

if not, i hear new york have a football team... could always just go there?

thanks, i understand the difficulty but am hoping.

ive been to a number of games for the New York Red Bulls, its tough to convince people who arent fans of the game to go there though. the quality of play and atmosphere really dont compare to England and the MLS (our national league) is a bit of a joke and WAY behind in popularity to at least half a dozen international leagues
