Just back great to finally win. Leicester had more possession but we weren't under any real pressure from them. Yann was brilliant won every header. We won't be going down and I have to be impressed by any of the teams this season so far.
Highlight of the night walking back to the car a boy about 5 wearing his Charlton shirt kept signing Yann kermogant and we're the red and white army for at least 10 minutes straight loved it
That was my boy, he was doing my gloating for me! We all dream of a team of kermorgants!
Just been reading the post-match thread on the Leicester forum and there's no real indication that they woz robbed or anything. Many people saying they got what they deserved. Then I read this:
and discover that we played "against a Leicester side who dominated from start to finish"
To be fair, they did. At 1-0 up I still though Leicester would come away winners. We took our chances far better than usual though. Our counter attacks were also very good.
Kermorgant loves Leicester .. and Leicester hates Kermorgant. A100% performance from EVERYbody. Haynes proves that give him time he'll f** it up, instinct is the watchword here. EVERYbody worked their socks off, Pritchard and Wagstaff all hustle and bustle, Morrison and Cort were superb against their in form & dangerous strikers. We do well against the good sides. The next trick is to learn how to perform and win in the muck and gutter with the lesser sides.
What was the leicester crowds reaction to Yann when announced and during the game?
Booed a lot when he was mentioned, during the game not too much noise really. He got booed less than Konchesky did by us.
Although I noticed that they wouldn't have time to really boo him as he basically never has the ball, I really realised that last night because I was listening out for the boos, he literally flicks it on with his head, or holds it briefly, makes a pass, then moves. I think there was only once or twice where he had the ball for more than 3 seconds.
By that time he'd already scored though so not much they could do because as always, Yann laughs last, and he laughs the hardest.

We were just across from you and your lad was making us laugh, I hope for your sake he's not as hyper as that at home!
Good performance all round. Well done to the players, management and fans.
I thought the team played well, full of energy and not allowing the Leicester players time on the ball. Special praise goes to Pritchard, who demonstrated he can play well wide as well as in the centre, and Kermorgant. Hamer responded to recent criticism from some with a good performance.
It was a mistake by a Leicester player that led to our first goal, a ball played along the line was intercepted and then passed to Yann, who neatly slotted the ball into the back of the net. The Foxes equalised with a decent interchange of passes followed by a clinical strike. But the best goal was saved for the end, with Haynes scoring a lovely goal.
The players passed the ball around well. Perhaps when reviewing where to spend money, the value of investing funds in the pitch should be seriously considered. The return (in terms of points & entertainment) from spending money on the pitch, with the likely upturn in play at home, may be greater than the return from spending the same amount of money on an additional player.
CP's substitution, bringing on Haynes, should be applauded, as indeed should his team selection. Obviously the substitution created a goal, but it also kept us on the front foot, and reduced the amount of sitting back and defending deep at the end.
Great vocal support from the travelling Addicks. No instruments, just singing. Yann must have heard and appreciated the backing. A degree of wit in some of the songs and chants. Leicester's drummer appeared to take the banter in his stride.
The game finished with crowd and team applauding one another, and both sets of fans applauding CP. A 'worm' was then performed.
Games like this are why I watch football and why I support Charlton.
It's on CAFC Player now. As is a post match interview with Danny Haynes who sounds like he's just done a marathon. Never heard someone sound so out of breath just from talking!
Hamer should be dropped, Devite is crap. Pritch is rubbish. Powell should go! Note to anyone who thought the above, please do not buy my football club! You ain't got a scooby! Great result I fancied us for the win. Well done to our team and the fans who travelled' COYR
Great result I have been critical of CP's substitutions this season but this time he was spot on so big congratulations to him and the boys. Now how about a win at home lads!
Great win last night against a top team in division. We all knew Yann would get one last night and he did. Powell got it spot on, thought we would get a 2nd when he made an offensive sub by taking Dervite off for Haynes. Hope we can following this up with a home win on Saturday, to carry on to the end of the season and see how many points and places we can finish above Smallwall
Absolutely fantastic .... Great result and puts us in a great position to survive ... Powell will have another year under his belt and know where to strengthen next season ... A bit if cash and we could make real fist of it next year ... Love it

Excellent work by Waggy to keep that ball in for the first goal! Goes to show you should never give up a lost cause.

Were can I see the the goals?

"But we managed to show strength and character and we needed to just grow some balls, which we did.”
He must have said that especially for our Nth London Addick lol

If other teams below us win their games in hand they get within 5 points of us or overtake us.
Had we lost it would have been just two!
Powell and the boys did a massive job last night which may yet define our season.
Oh for a win or two at home!

As such... I wake up in the morning, log on to CL and wanna find out what happened
In the past the post match thread had the score in the title. That was stopped for understandable reasons of people wanting to avoid score.
Buuuut... It would be really useful to include the score in first post of post match thread.
Sometimes i read 2 or 3 pages to try and figure out what happened.... Sometimes whoever starts thread puts it in first post so i know immediately
Am sure there will now be a sarky post or 2 telling me to check bbc or something... But i also think there will be a few who hear what am saying.
No worries, though... Great if thread starter remembers... Oh well if they dont
Only writing now coz greenie asked like
That is why we stopped putting score in post match thread title... So ppl could do that
Buuuut... Usually i want instant results gratification without reading about SISS over and over
