I know it is my problem, but it does really piss me off that some people's first reaction to the result is to tell us what they won on their bet. Three points is all that matters to me...
Just got home, great team performance, every player worked their socks off. Danny Haynes goal capped a great evening. My boy Taylor sung for the whole 90 minutes and loved his first midweek away game. Roll on saturday!
Just back great to finally win. Leicester had more possession but we weren't under any real pressure from them. Yann was brilliant won every header. We won't be going down and I have to be impressed by any of the teams this season so far.
Highlight of the night walking back to the car a boy about 5 wearing his Charlton shirt kept signing Yann kermogant and we're the red and white army for at least 10 minutes straight loved it
One thing I haven't seen mentioned here is that Wagstaff, for the lead up to the first goal ran (and just managed to keep in) a ball that most players wouldn't bother going for 9/10.
Fantastic workrate from him
As for Kermorgant, I don't know what to say. If Leicester miss out on automatic promotion, they can thank Kermorgant and the 6 points he played a strong contribution to for that.
Great performance from the lads tonight. Quietened their support and their players with such spirit , energy and sheer determination.
SCP made the changes I felt he might by bringing in the Charlton version of Pinky & Perky ( Wiggy & Waggy) but the inclusion of Devite was a surprise . Looked like the formation used at Palace which worked for a good deal of that match and certainly did the trick tonight.
As others have said, Yann was OUR Beast again and for him to score in both games against his old Club was karma. As for Haynsey, first touch, bang, GOAL ! He certainly knows how to celebrate. No-one had even an indifferent game with the usual suspects doing what they always do and frustrating their boys in blue. As for dropping our Ben...no chance !
SO pleased for everyone who made the trip, all our gutsy lads and last but not least, our Man in the tracksuit. Came onto the pitch at the final whistle to clap us and then the departing & dejected Leics fans who stopped in their tracks to clap him back. How could anyone doubt him is beyond belief ...
Oh, and the other highlight of my evening was waving to MIA & his lad on the way out. I love seeing happy Lifers !!!
One of those away days that will live long in the memory.
And wait till you see Haynes' goal with his first touch. Fantastic.
Who said Powell can't do subs?
Who said Powell out?
They all put a fantastic shift in but Kermo was a monster.
This
Went with my son as usual but also my daughter who is at Leicester University, one sitting each side of me made this a very special night Love it. Just want to follow it up with a home win on Saturday for my birthday.
This is why I support Charlton. After all the shite I've had to watch over the past few weeks it suddenly seems worth it when we pull out an unexpected result like this
To be fair the performance at Palace was pretty good and we were better then Brum, granted Hull and Sheff Wed were poor in comparrison, we are inconsistant but that beats being consistantly poor.
Fantastic result not in a million years could I see that coming ,just like the Watford result, well done the team Hard work and effort does get rewarded Everyone warbling about substitutes, were there any made after Haynes goal to help us hold on?? ....well whatever it is it worked and I bet he done similar in some of the lost games Above the scum and that feels good
I was wishfull of a draw what a fantastic result, was asked to do a quick opposition thing for the Foxes Trust, and chose Kermo as my danger man.. result
A truly great night, all the players put a huge shift in, as others have said before Yann was winning everything and his headers were so accurately directed. Foxes fans on the local radio were complaining that as soon as they got the ball there were two players in red on them, whereas the same urgency wasn't shown by Leicester players. First half lots of hard work from the middle of the pitch, winning the battles and getting the ball through to a hard working Waggy. 2nd half Pritchard came to the fore with some brilliant runs and link ups with Yann. Casper pulled off a brilliant save at one point from a Pritchard shot that looked like it was flying into an open goal. 2nd goal completely sublime, up there with the best cafc goals Ive seen. Great to be celebrating with the players and manager again as they came to our noisy corner after the final whistle. I'm looking forward to Peterborough now.
Followed first half on here but getting too nervous so waited till 10 then turned on SSN. "Bad night for Cardiff as they lost and all the chasing pack won." Oh **** it's happened again, I thought. Then shrieked with joy and disbelief when actual score scrolled along the bottom...
Another fantastic win against one of the top sides and I'm not that surprised. We are a much better team than many people seem to think, and I still wouldn't be surprised if we make it into the play offs. CP is still learning and hopefully he has now learnt that Waggy and Pritchard need to play and that fortune favours the brave when it comes to making positive substitutions.
Great night out, I just had a sneaking feeling we would get something from the game yesterday. Took my 6 year old grandson who in the two away games I have taken him to has seen us beat Watford and now Leicester!
I think the difference in last night and our previous 4 games was that we pressed sooner and a lot higher up the pitch. Great effort by all the team.
Oh, and if Pritchard could only score goals, we would have one hell of a player!
It's the one team northern town mentality syndrome. Only of course topped by the two team northern town mentality syndrome as regularly displayed by our resident CL stalker OP.
Whilst I would be the first to admit that the London of my youth was probably a myth but in any case very long gone and that SE London resembles a 3rd world toilet in many instances today, you really must put yourself in the place of these people who live in such confined and stunted northern environments, as opposed to one of the greatest cities on earth and all its opportunities to advance oneself emotionally, intellectually and personally.
Either that or they are just a bunch of norvern monkies!
Just been skimming through the Fox's forum, looking for any comments about our players. They are even more pessimistic and one-eyed than some on here. The only quote I found that hasn't already been mentioned is" We need a new face they team is looking really dry at the moment, we're becoming predictable. Bradley Pritchard for them really impressed me, i remember him from his Nuneaton Borough days he looked class back then." So well done Bradley, your performance last night was recognised by the away fans.
Just been reading the post-match thread on the Leicester forum and there's no real indication that they woz robbed or anything. Many people saying they got what they deserved. Then I read this:
Comments
Pritchard ran his heart out.
Frog was fantastic
A well deserved win in front of a very nervous and quiet home crowd.
Highlight of the night walking back to the car a boy about 5 wearing his Charlton shirt kept signing Yann kermogant and we're the red and white army for at least 10 minutes straight loved it

Very pleased for Yann Kermorgant and Danny Haynes.
And well done to all. You try hard, and we love you for it.

just seen Haynes goal on Sky................it was 10x better live & from our angle - probably one of the best goals i've seen from a CAFC player.
expected the worst when I saw the line-up but this time CP got his subs spot-on.............he must have read my comments on here from Saturday !!
Went with my son as usual but also my daughter who is at Leicester University, one sitting each side of me made this a very special night
Love it.
Just want to follow it up with a home win on Saturday for my birthday.
Quiet but competent, can I assume?
But I'd do it again tomorrow to see a performance like that ;-)

Some seem to think we are a "tin-pot club"
Some seen to think chris Powell is a great manager
One person said "That Yann Kermorgant looked great we should snap him up in the summer"
Combination of sour grapes and humble regret about Yann
That lamby kid really is a prize tw*t
I think the difference in last night and our previous 4 games was that we pressed sooner and a lot higher up the pitch. Great effort by all the team.

Your other two observations are spot on

(oh and nice goal haynes) :~)
