I'm pretty sure Richard enjoys being a director and would stay on the board if possible. He also brings nearly 20 years of experience and contacts to the table if TJ and MS are sensible enough to listen
His speech certainly wasnt a resignation to my ears but if Koc or the other parties to come in and start spening mega bucks I'm not sure RM would want or be able to match that level of spending. At present for every £1 put in he puts in 10p of it. He also still underwrites the Clubs overdraft which is very odd given his low percentage ownership
RM paid tribute to the role of VOTV those in the Valley Party his fellow directors of the last 20 years the staff and fans
It was an excellent mini-speech ...just a pity he couldn't name 'names ...but everyone knew the references ...hope the pre-match 'Mumford' video is included in the end of season dvd
I did not think RM was giving a "goodbye" speach, more a thank you to those who have put in so much over the last 25 years but were not on the pitch. There is a possibility that RM might be coming into a few quid. see link below. I thought his company owns the rights to Who wants to be a millionaire and its been found that Disney made a mistake in their figures.....

And that's the point ... no-one knows how much it is costing to compete at mid table level and what is the minimum required to move up to 6th... and no one knows how this is being funded... It is not new equity as this would show up so it must be director loans at X% interest which may or may not convert to equity later? And there is no visibility of whether new director loans are being supplied according to precise shareholdings ...so RM might supply 10% OR maybe sits back and lets others supply cash as we climb back up the league structure?

That might give him more influence than we realise. Or it might have been a necessary concession.
It certainly didn't sound like a resignation. If anything it was a shot across the bows. Very concisely and skilfully worded, a gentle reminder if you like not to underestimate what the supporter base is capable of. More than a thank you, I think.
