I was there and had season tickets for years at Selhurst, the Boleyn and The Valley - but moved away and don't go anywhere near as much as i'd like to now. The two others I was with that day don't go any more for similar reasons.
Sat in the front row of the Jimmy Seed with my Dad. I was introduced to CAFC by him in our first season at Selhurst, always used to stand down the front by the advertising boardings.
Moved from Kent to Bournemouth 6 years ago, now with two young kids so only make a dozen or so games a season. Dad still a ST and goes to most home games, even though he's just recently moved to Dorset also.
Looking forward to the days I can bring my boy with me and my Dad. Three generations at the Valley will be a special moment for me and the family.
does anyone remeber thegate for the 2nd game against oxford
No idea, but I was at that one too... And every other game that season. Just saying, like :-)
I was under the impression that from our return onwards we were virtually allways sold out - untill about 3 or 4 years ago ?
I was a season ticket holder at the time SA, but I just checked the Rothmans Yearbook and we only sold out three more games that season.
Most of the games that season came close to sell outs, but the problem was the 3rd game that sold out (Notts County at home) had people locked out including away fans so the police forced the club to make games all ticket after that which menat we picked up no passing trade on days of the games and without the internet tickets were more problematical to buy then than now.
I went 20 years ago, still go now but only night games home & a few away, + an occasional Saturday home game.Living in Tropical Daarrzett is a Saturday totally gone travelling & watching a game. From that day there were a crowd of us and 2 of them still have season tickets.

Went to Selhurst Park & Upton Park , could not make the return game to the Valley in 92 , as i was working weekends and living on the Isle of Wight , probably my biggest Charlton regret , missing the actual return to the Valley but you can't do them all, such is life.
I now run my own business and I have to work most weekends, I only get to about 8 games per season, however I took my 6 year old son to his first game against Hull and he (and I) loved it, he"s now putting me under pressure to take more weekends off so I'm sure i will get to more games the older he gets.
yes I still go as does my brother. Dad has passed but been replaced by my two wonderful sons who are regulars. Pround that my back to the valley shirt was worn on Saturday by the next generation who know and appreciate our past.
Yes still go as often as possible. Coming back next week for 5/6 weeks, hope to see 5 games, brother still goes. Dad died in 92 and missed seeing the return, it was one of his biggest regrets when he knew that he wouldn't make it to the December that year.

That's sad, commiserations. Going again with my Dad, to the Valley, especially after I'd moved to Prague, was a great thing. Sadly he passed away before the promotion to the Prem.
was in town hall the night(i think it was early evening, does anyone have that date) we got permission to go back, went to selhurst, went to upton park and was in the jimmy seed at the first game back as our covered end tickets were lost in post apparently, didnt get our tickets till about 7pm night before game, chris parkes(top man) let me pick them up after work from the valley where there was STILL work going on,went on march from woolwich before match and got slaughtered in 'the whod of thought it' pub in plumstead after, still season ticket holder now
Four of us there that day, three of which still have season tickets. Season ticket holding friends and family have come and gone during the last 20 years but I've never waivered..........
One of my most precious addicks posessions is the half torn Woolwich town hall ticket, I am in the celebration clip and the end paper of Richard Reddans Valley of Joy book, was locked out the first meeting for the no vote and "given" a ticket for the second meeting. I remember the "we hate palace" banner hanging from the upper tier still see a lot of faces from tnose days....what brilliant memories...
