I was thinking this when they showed the film before k/o (what was the track they played through it?) and its strange because I am still in the mindset that I was one of a minority that goes who missed the Bartram years, never saw Eddie Firmani and wasnt at the Huddersfield 7-6 game,
when you consider those that have passed away since 92 it may have only been 1 in 4 there today that went to the first game and maybe only 1 in 5 that used to go pre Selhurst I guess days like today act as markers in your life and realise your not a teenager any more.
Good to see a few lifers in the Lib and meet Princess Fiona as well
Only daughter missing today from the 3 of us in the Jimmy Seed on 5/12/92. We all had season tkts throught the Selhurst & Upton Park years and we have had them ever since.
Her 2 children have u11 s tkts now but can't often use them .The whole family will be in attendance for the Derby game when our eldest grandson will be a mascot.
Still ST holders with my mates in largely the same seats we were 20 years ago. Numbers have fluctuated over the years we have sadly lost 1 or 2 over that time but have replaced them with the next generation who will hopefully keep the production line running in years to come.
My son was proud to be wearing my "Back to the Valley" home shirt today that I wore 20 years ago.
3 of us still have season tickets and attend all home games, although one other now has to work weekends and can only come once in a while. Against that, 4 of our sons were there today and 2 are now season ticket holders.
I've missed 5 home games since 1972, due to weddings (not mine). I've never missed a game "voluntarily". If Charlton are playing at home, then I'm there. Simple as. Do the majority of aways as well.
Was a season ticket holder at Sellout and Trumpton, but sadly don't go very often now due to a 20,000 mile round trip. Still get to see 4-5 games a season though. From the 5 I used to go with, I know that one definitely still goes home and away.
I moved from the UK in 2003. Was a season ticket holder from 1992 to 2005. Get to about 8-9 games a season. My Mum hasn't been for about 2 seasons, my Dad actually never went to the 5/12/92 game but was a season ticket holder until about 4 years ago, my brother is no longer a regular. 3 of my mates that we sat with at that first game are all still regulars.
Yes - was there on 05/12/92 and was there today. ST since the East Stand was opened (well from Xmas on - I was under the impression that you couldn't buy one prior to that but I may be mistaken)
My old man and I were there that day and are still season ticket holders. My grandad was there but has since passed away and my Nan was there but is unable to attend these days.
Four of us were there in temp West Stand on 5/12/92. Husband and I still go when we can, traveling from Scotland. My dad and the other friend, Michael, have since passed away, but were both still going as long as they could.
