Will definately clap. As others have said - he gave 110% here. One of his daughters went to my daughter's nursery when he was local and I met him once and his wife quite a few times - she said he was absolutely distraught when he missed the penalty...and they also had family locally and didn't really want to move.
Couldn't really care about his return. Liked him as a player for us, never been so embarrassed about a charlton player hitting the deck easily as he did though.
Applaud when name read out - always gave his all and we wouldnt have been anywhere near the play offs if it were not for him, + he must have felt awful missing that penalty, he wouldnt have done it on purpose. However once the game starts he is an opposition player, and if he starts his diving/writhing in agony at the slightest touch he should then get the response that deserves, for ANY player.
Not a great fan of his as I always thought he failed to hold his position and of course the play off was a personal nightmare for him, however he always put in 100% and played for the club, so applause from me until he falls down and gets one of ours booked. Did any of the current squad actually play with him, Solly too young, Jacko not here yet?
Neither. He gave his all in a Charlton shirt and hasn't said anything bad about the club or us lot since he left. Nor did he leave in that bad a manner. I'll be going to cheer our boys and see a Charlton win.
He did become a bit of a whining tart but overall was very good for us. Brief, polite applause before the start, volley of abuse if he starts his antics against us.

I think Jackson was on loan for a few games near the end of the 09/10 season when Bailey was still here.
Think that fact we're asking the question about whether he will be booed or cheered shows that we recognise we do have a small number of idiotic fans who will boo him just for that penalty miss, as quite frankly anyone who boos him tomorrow is an idiot!
Will get a massive cheer from me as a player who gave 110%, don't quite buy into all this play acting whenever he was fouled though, was probably our best player and a massive engine in midfield therefore would be targeted a lot and it's not easy at all to gage how much a foul can really hurt, seen plenty of challenges that seem innocuous result in a player being stretchered off.
Neither Like F82M says above, that Swindon game will live long in my memory. He was absolutely two bob in the last month of that season, and that pass to their defender was atrocious. I wouldn't coat him off for the penalty miss - he was absolutely devastated by it, and anyone can miss a penalty. All that being said, he was one of the best of an extremely bad bunch while he played for us and - but for his billy big bollocks impression of the end of that season, was more than decent for us.
In hindsight, that game heralded the start of my mate Steve being an absolute Jonah - every single time I've been at the Valley with him since we've been abysmal and lost.
Don't forget LA that ridiculous dive rolling around on the floor just before their goal that was the culmination of a season of play acting the like no player had done before or since
This thread is crumbs...why would anyone with a life want to know who is booing or not. The saddest fact of all is that this kind of thread is repeated time and time again, and on many forums. He's just a footballer, its not the return of Satan.

Yeah but it gives us something to talk about over and above the club melt down thread
i would never boo an ex player who in my opinion gave his all for the cause, and didn't run around like a demented headless chicken so he could get sent off before xmas, or go on strike so he could get the move he wanted.
I'll say it again, the tie was lost at the County Ground when Racon and Semedo failed to hack down the Swindon players when they were breaking for the second goal, not Bailey's pass.
You could never accuse of Nicky Bailey of not giving everything when he played. He scored some great goals, the one in the second half of the 4-4 against Millwall was excellent but he also regularly misplaced passes in midfield that lead to goals against us. He was a bit Hollywood, choosing to do a flash looping pass or shot rather than a simple direct pass in a similar position. This is what led to the penalty play off miss.
He stuffed up a penalty, footballers make mistakes in matches, I don't understand why any Charlton supporter would want to boo him for that.
We didn't get through to the play off final more to Parkinsons mis deployment of Llera and defensive resources than anything else.
Charlton also got 1.4 million, or thereabouts for him, which was a decent price especially as the club bought him for £400,000 or so. With the terrible state of finances, that 1.4 million was needed to help keep the club afloat at the time.
Polite applause if anything from me.
Booing if anyone was misguided enough to do that, would only encourage Bailey to play better and in a more determined way (thats if he is in the starting 11), so it would be best not to do it.
Swindon should've been out of sight in that semi after the first leg, so why we're moaning about the second leg is beyond me. He was one of the better players for us at that time but that is all, a small ripple for his effort for us on the pitch would be a nice gesture though

Though will cheer when he scores own goal for a 2-1 charlton win.
Liked him as a player for us, never been so embarrassed about a charlton player hitting the deck easily as he did though.
Boo during the game
Applaud at end of game or when substituted

I wouldn't boo nor cheer not sure I would applaud either not because of the pen miss
Just that he is Just another player returning he def aint a hero or leg end for us
He was misused by us at times, pushed out on the wing to accomodate the chuckle brothers in the middle.

He better not shag my wife though!!!

Why bother
Polite applause from me

Agree that Nicky Bailey was one of our better players that season.
