  • Applaud. A good player in what was a very average/poor team during his two years at the club.
  • Applaud - he always did his best for us and everyone can make a mistake.
  • I seem to remember a lot of Charlton fans said they would let him shag their wife, surely this should be an option?? ;o)
  • Worthy of a welcoming applause when his name is read out but cant see a reason to boo the guy
  • Cheer and applause, without a doubt.

  • Cheer, no reason to boo the guy, he gave his all as a player when with us.

Because there's nowt as strange as some of our fans.
  • big cheer! top bloke!
  • A little clap. Nothing more, nothing less
  • I'm going to boo him for 90 minutes. Fairly obvious he deliberately missed the penalty so he could get his dream move upto Middlesbrough
  • Polite applause only. Personally still have nightmares dreaming about that Swindon game - 2-0 up, Swindon down to 10 men, Bailey breaks away with players free to his left and right and only one defender in front of him. And it was that defender he passed to! That led to Swindon scoring.

And there's one or two memories going here as people forget that he had been infuriating in the last couple of months of that season, frequently throwing himself to the floor when he had been tackled as if he had been shot.

Wish the guy well and remember he was one of our better players during our spell in the wilderness but old boy legend he is certainly not.
  • Had it not been for his contribution I'm not so sure we would have been in the playoffs. He pretty much carried that team.

  • why boo? ridiculous
  • To this day i still can't get over that Swindon game but still won't boo him. Always gave 100% and was a talented player.
  • Can't see why anyone would boo.

    These
  • Absolutely no reason to boo, and the behind-the-scenes stuff notwithstanding, his missed penalty was something of a blessing in disguise. Possibly.
  • No reason to boo but I wouldn't go as far as cheering. I would always prefer to give ex players either a good reception or no reception. A bad one always back fires.
I for one will welcome him with a nice little clap.

    Neither.

    1) I will not applause an opposition player in a competitive game as I don't want them to feel at home.
    2) I will not boo because he doesn't deserve it, he gave 100% for us and only left because a bigger opportunity (at the time) was there for him.
  • Neither
  • But when he goes to ground 'writhing in agony' after the slightest touch, probably yell some abuse!
  • Bit of a clap, why the he'll would anyone boo a player who put in two good years for us and was then sold at a profit when we wanted and needed the cash?!
