are we all sure its defiantly about football?

nobody can say for definate, but seeing as tomorrow is match day and the team is probably travelling tonight I doubt he's talking about his dinner being burnt or finding his missus in bed with the milkman

& who can blame him. He is a left back & our 1sr choice left back is injured, so if you were in his position you would think you have a pretty good chance of playing !! If you find out the rb is now taking your place and the papers are talking about a loanee lb coming in then you'd be pretty p****d off !!

It happened to me ONCE............I never played for that team again !!!

  • Life's too short not to say or do the right thing but you had better have a Plan B in place a bit sharpish if Plan A is to bite the hand that feeds.
  • Unfortunately he hasn't been good enough in any of his performances so far. He might well develop but at the moment he would get murdered in this league.

I can understand his reaction, as instead of him getting a run in the team, Wilson is getting the chance instead, who's hardly nailed down the place through his performances either, and Solly then has to play out of position instead...

  • He is wrong to go public but it is much better that he is desperate to play rather then just collect his pay check each week, he is still young, no need for some of are fans to completly write him off for one mistake like this.
  • Let's calm down and realise that the world doesn't revolve around our LB position. When i was regularly on twitter I noted that most of his tweets usually revolved around 'everyday life' and the only hints at him being a footballer were in the banter with Hamer and co.

I sincerely doubt this has anything to do with the team; furthermore, I would suggest that speculation regarding whether this is about managerial decisions could actually have the potential to damage his future at the club.

I like Ceddy, I would even be glad for him to get some match time. I think he's been given a bad hand of cards; but I still doubt the relevance of this tweet with regards to his position at the club.

From what I have seen so far this season of Wilsons 3 games compared to Evinas 1 I would have to guess Evina has commited a heinous crime not to be picked as natural successor to Wiggins.
  • Not sure if anyone else agrees but I can't see Evina staying with us past January, I do think Wilson has improved every game he has played, but do think Evina should have got a chance.
  • I have to say fair play to Evina. He's been waiting all season and then got overlooked by an out of form Wilson.
  • It's a joke really, Wilson can't defend, solly is wasted on the left, evina is a left footed defender. Please tell me the confusing part of this equation?

  • Evina must be that bad
  • He must be shite if we cannot chance a natural left footer there for a few games

Wilson has been very useful acquisition. Solly is decent as a left back

    If it ain't broke........
  • Decent defensively at left back yes but attacking wise and at home it doesn't working checking back on his right foot. We need natural width out there

Think the whole point of the thread is the fact it is broke and needs fixing.

Solly is good at left back and you can see Hamer and others give him the ball when he's free... but he's a lot, lot better at right back with either Wilson or Green in front of him...

I don't know how long Wiggins is out for but we need this sorted if we are going to pick up 3 points anywhere soon... either Evina or a loan please!

  • The defence is not our main problem but obviously some of our fans are unable to see this. Until our midfield improves we're not going to do much.
I hardly think Wiggins being injured has made much of a difference.

Maybe not defensively but he got a hell of a lot of assists last season and it sounds like chance creation has been a real problem for us.

Not saying Evina can necessarily plug that gap single handedly, but he was billed as an attacking full-back when we signed him so perhaps Wiggins attacking threat would be missed quite as much if Ceddy was playing.

I'd like to see Ceddy given a chance with Solly back at right back and Wilson pushed forwards in place of Green.

BWP is a poacher, Yann, Fuller and Hulse are all big guys and good in the air and we don't have anyone with that sparkling combination of flair/vision/technique in centre midfield so imo, the way to maximise our attacking threat is to load the flanks and get crosses into the box and we stand a better chance of doing that with 2 lefties on the left.
  • It is broke and it does need fixing. At the time Wiggins got injured, Wilson wasn't in form.
  • Said it loads of times and I say it again - in a poor attacking side, Wiggins is our most potent weapon. We only look dangerous to me when he overlaps.

  • Agree with exiled - Wilson upto RM, solly rb and Evina in. Suspect hulse will be the lone front man at elland road
  • I think there's an argument at the moment to maybe bring him and left back, move Solly back to the right and push Wilson into the midfield.
  • If the team was getting good results and playing well every week, you could understand Evina not getting a game. With the current level of form of the team, to not give him a chance (unless he's truly terrible in training) looks like bloody mindedness from Powell.
  • It's not really about the defence it's about Wilson who is increasingly looking like the best right midfielder we have being stuck at full back and the best right back we have being stuck out of position on the left. Basic changes that would probably influence the whole team's style of play for the better!
  • I would like to see Evina get a chance. He has pace, and will make the side have more balance. However, SCP wasn't a bad LB in his day, so he will know if the kid is ready yet. (He might get a game against the Posh at home, not against Diouf at Leeds!)

I don't think the back line is the issue...yes it's unbalanced at the moment, but we need a player who can get a game, and boss it. Dictate the play. Stephens could do this, but for some reason he seems to pick the ball a lot deeper, spreads the play, an then neither him or Hollands busting a gut to help in the final third.

    COYR
  • Definitely need people back in correct positions, Solly rb Wilson to RM would be a start.

But the midfield is a mess, JJ seems to be put in the middle now but is still ineffective, Hollands the same. Razak and Stephens would be my middle two for the next home game but I would stick with 4-5-1 away
  • I dont think CP will play Evina at the moment, going on what he said at the ashford meeting. Especially against a premiership quality forward. He doesn't want to expose him just yet. He wants to do it when we have a couple of wins under our belt. Diouf will have him for breakfast.

CP did touch on the point that Evina was still young, and the response by someone in the crowd was that Solly is also young, to which CP replied there not the same player, Hinting that Solly is a much better player, or has a much better attitude.

I dont think we'll see Evina play, just the feeling I got from CP when asked about him. He didn't come across as having a lot of time for Evina. He did say he has spoken to him regarding him not playing, he didn't say what was said.
  • Any idea when Wiggins is back?

    Back where?
  • Programme said Wiggins was back jogging
