I really don't think he'll drop the captain. Evina in for Wiggins, Green for Pritchard, the rest as is.
Agree. Can't believe everyone saying we should drop Kermorgant. I'm sure Fuller will do well for us but not sure he is fit enough to start just yet and its Yann. Where has all the love for him gone?
JJ will get back in the team but if a player isn't doing it he needs to be dropped. Was saying before Palace scored that we needed to bring on Fuller for JJ and Green for Pritchard. I didn't think he was contributing anything and the extra player and physicality up front would have given us a bit. Sir Chris was clearly thinking the same but waited too long. I understand why it is hard to make the change when you are not losing but sometimes the writing is on the wall and you have to make the change before you lose the inevitable goal.
Gutted for Rhoys (and us), but really think this should give Evina a chance to get a decent run of games. Was quite impressed with the little I saw of him last season.
There will be no changes for Derby except Wilson for Wiggins.
SCP will not start with ( "Never-tackles") Green away from home and he will not put on a new signing as a sub in a highly charged derby game and then drop him for the next match.
Can't believe Wilson has got flak. Even Super-Solly was at full tilt keeping up with those Palace wide men.
Long term prospect not first team option...if he was, he would have been more visible in the lower division last season.
in my opinion, he isn't a kid and played at League One level for Oldham. Has done well enough in Cup games to be given a chance. Solly isn't a LB and is a better RB than Wilson. Jacko too slow. Has to be Ceddy for me.
I would be amazed if Evina doesn't start - he is next in line. He wasn't on the bench on Friday because you can't cover every position with like for like players.

Agree - CP obviously a fan of his and if it wasn't for a combination of Wiggins' excellent form and fitness, the 5-subs rule and Jackson and Solly already in the team who could cover in an emergency, I think he would have got more opportunities last year. As LA says, he's already had a full season at Oldham and before that (I think) he played a couple of Carling Cup games for Arsenal so he must have something about him. Now should be his opportunity with a run of games to see if he's up to it - difficult for any player who only gets a few minutes here and there and big gaps between games.
If fit Evina is the only specialist left-back and should be the choice. Jackson too slow, never lasts 90 minutes and moving him back makes for more disruption to the lineup as a whole. The Solly left back & Wilson right back option was Powell's only route on Friday but Wilson's not nearly ready yet We need a minimum of 4 points this week from 2 teams level with us at the wrong end of the table - now is not the time for experimentation or giving greenhorns 'gametime' for experience.
Its got to be Evina surely. Jacko needs to be dropped for a while, might actually do him some good.....Green or Kerkar to come in, and Waggy on the bench too. Id start with Kermo, but bring on Fuller later on....his Cameos have been quite good thus far.
Evina is a left back. Solly is a right back. One of the things Powell's got consistently right in his tenure is that you get the best our of your team if people are playing in their strongest positions, and unless you have to why would you make two changes when you could make just one?
I'd fully expect Evina to start against Derby, Jacko up ahead of him. I wouldn't be gobsmacked though if we saw a 5 man midfield.
Solly tomorrow .. then a short term loanee .. if we can find one @ the right salary price .. Borrowdale ?
I liked Borrowdale in his brief spell with us and had hoped he would return the following season , but surely we would be looking for a better player now .
Since his loan spell with us two years ago he has only played a few games for Carlisle and Barnet hardly the calibre what is needed now .
Message to SCP. Go up into your loft at home, find your boots and shin pads and the club will provide the kit and a squad number because you should deputise at LB.

IF we can find a better quality left back who is out of contract and /or is able to come on loan .. they aint gonna be 2 a penny and they/he wont come cheap .. we're close to broke
After Powell decided to it was best to play Solly at Left Back last night does this now mean:
a) Solly will be at left back for the next 13 league games (Till the end of November) Taking the last year's player of the year out of his natural position for a quarter of the season. Is that the answer?
b) Put Evina at left back as from this saturday, and put Solly back in his right back role?
c) Get a left back in on loan before this saturday.

It's written in the script.
Now if Solly stays at LB or a LB loan signing is brought in, then that might give a starting place for a more creative and pacy LM like Kerkar.

Forget it. He will be lucky to see the bench...

I thought he was excellent when I saw him in Cup games but don't think he is part of SCP's plans at the moment.

Go on, why not?
