I care about this game and Millwall at home more than any other game. They are the teams that I consider to be our proper local rivals. Due to the size of the three clubs it is not unrealistic for any of the games to be won by any of the teams (it's not like considering Arsenal a rival).
For that reason I am a little obsessed with everything about this game - the attendance, the away numbers, the interactions between fans before, and after, the game and the result. The game, itself, is a little irrelevant as far as I'm concerned, I just want us to win. I would love to win by a margin, of course I would, but I just want to win.
With the absence of playing either of these two teams much in the last fifteen years (I think this is the first season all three of us have been in the same division for that long) I want to expand the whole event as much as possible. I can't wait for Friday, and not just for the game, the atmosphere will be fantastic, and a measure of that will be the attendance, so I can see why these threads are so popular.
Having said that I don't really get Oohahh's obsession with the figures, but I don't see why it should bother people.
