    How tall is he ?

  • All very well winning, but we are still in 10th position in the CCC.

    Sort it out Powelly.
  • Stephens motm
  • This is the translation of Jacobo's Greek club saying he was bound for England and Everton in April ,seems like he would be the calibre of Goalkeeper we require

Withdrawing from the Star Chakompo Santh Tripoli, bound for England and Everton. The Spanish goalkeeper came to an agreement with the administration of the Arcadians to leave the team Sakis Tsiolis and has reportedly already in the hands of the proposal, the next stop of his career.

The Spaniards say that the goalkeeper, 28, will continue his career in England and Everton in particular, which it has already been approached. The Chakompo had played in 22 games of Star Tripoli in this year's championship and was one of the leading players of the Super League.

Interesting we lined up in a 4-3-3 in the second half.

  • Surprising, you'd not expect to see wagstaff used in a three man midifled
  • Thoughts and feedback from those there ?
  • For me 1st half standouts were Bover and Pritchard , 2nd half impressed with Cookie , Smith & Haynes.
  • First half was a non event. Harriot failed to take his chance. No one really stood out.

Second half much better. Liked the formation. I saw it as more of a 4-3-2-1 when attacking and 4-5-1 when defending.

Cook and Haynes played off the very impressive Smith. Both switched from left to right and looked comfortable.

Thought Wagstaff looked at home in the centre as well.

Spanish keeper had little to do but what he did he did well.

Smith MOM for me. Linked play very well.

  • Thought Bover and Pritchard in the first half were good,Bover in particular sprayed the ball around nicely. In the second half we played a more fluid 433 and it suited us better.Haynes and Cook played out wide and Smith was upfront by himself.Jackson Waggy and Stephens played in a narrow midfield.I was very impressed by Smith who held the ball up well and laid it off nicely. Also Cook looked mobile and can use either feet.Stephens totally controlled the midfield and sprayed some nice passes around. The Spanish keeper didnt have much to do so it is difficult to judge him.
  • I thought Smith looked quality.
Big fella and good with his feet. Looked good with his back to goal.
  • As said we were much better 2nd half with the 4-5-1.

Kermo looked like he'd been enjoying the french food a bit too much but took some great practice FKs. Harriot did well but missed some chances, bover was neat on the ball and Pritch was busy.

Jackson seemed to enjoy playing in the middle and Stephens looked sharper than for a while. He had those blue heat strips all over. Haynes was very dangerous form maimly the left. Cook will be a crowd pleaser. Direct, fast and skillful. Smith is so one footed but battled well. None of the defenders had much to do. Morrison misjudged one ball that let Utd hit the post. Spanish keeper looked the part for the very little he had to do and Pope was solid.

Could easily had more but for somewasteful finishing and blocks from James Corden in goal for Welling.

It did look like Varney was sitting between Tony J and Keith P in the main stand.

Good to catch up with some others lifers around the ground.
  • Is smith the big lad we got from darlo? Where was he last season...in our ressies?
  • Is smith the big lad we got from darlo? Where was he last season...in our ressies?
no reserves for us, he was out on loan
  • On the 4-3-3 note - Steve Lovell was really surprised that all the academy teams play 433 but the firsts played 442 last year.

Would be nice to play 451/433 next season

Glad for Smith - I think he could be quite useful in a short while and I've liked Haynes since day 1 - pace will always scare opponents and is an Awesome weapon if harnessed correctly
