  • Btw it's depressing when your generation of players retire :(
Nah mate. Depressing is when you remember the grandfathers of current players playing e.g. Tony Hateley.

Haha, I'll give ya that! I didn't even know Mark Hateley had a famous dad *hangs head in shame*
  • When did the lead singer from Spandau Ballet play?
  • I would buy 2 season tickets if bowyer signed

And give one back to jints and tell him not to be so silly
  • If we go for him it wouldn't be a positive sign for next season. An excellent player who is sadly past his best.

  • Never seen an 18 year old before or since at Charlton have such an impact on the team like Bow did in his first full season with us in 95/96. Highlight for me was his goal at the Valley against the scum. Great Memories. Always had a lot of time for Lee.
  • That was then, this is now. No from me.
  • For some reason watfrord away that season sticks in my head , I just sat there thinking this kid is something special

And then reading the paper on the way to Liverpool I think in the cup about how George gram let him go as he felt he was too small as a kid to make it

Then Wilkinson when he signed him saying that we had played him far too often and if he was a horse he would've been burnt out in the knackers yard

Bowyer was by far the best young player I think we produced

If the money was right (wages) then I would not be unhappy with him returning to the club

  • Used to really like Bowyer, an exciting player full of spirit, and very talented.
Then the stories appeared, and his return to the valley, after a warm welcome from the crowd, was both upsetting and frankly immature.
I though he acted like a real idiot. He seemed hell bent on acting like a hard man, or what he thought passed as a hard man.
If the stories of his behaviour are correct, I would be amazed if this happened.

Yes Lee was terrific....but so were all of these I have mentioned as well as some by others...was Lee better than 'all' of these....some yes but not all I think.
