  • Bowyer was a great player in his day .. but then again, so was Stanley Matthews (who he ???)
  • Would Love to see Bowyer back
  • At first I thought he'd been in Ipswich prison!
  • ...and if Powell believes he is the right type of character
Well theres the rub....he's definately not the sort of character for this club. He's a gobby chav thug that just happen's to have been able to play football.

    big fan then ;-)
  • Euell and Hughes were both senior players who could fit in when needed but who brought something else to the squad in terms of professionalism and experience.

    Bowyer has the experience

And he also donates money to the Lar Sao Vicente Home for the physically disabled people in Albufeira, Portugal, where Lee and his family have a holiday home.
  • It was 16 years ago that he left us for Leeds! That's a long time ago...
  • Just feel we might be stepping back here

  • Amazed by some of the OTT responses here. He was great for Birmingham in the Premiership a couple of years ago.
  • Milton Keynes his next stop
  • Is he 35 ?

How old does that make me then - good grief !!

  • no thanks
  • If, hypothetically, Bowyer came in, how would we use him?

Hollands and Bowyer, Stephens and Bowyer, Pritchard and Bowyer or stick him on the right in place of Green or Waggy?
  • my heart says go get him, my head says no way

That was years ago....folk grow up and change....he's been out of the media spotlight for years, give the fella a break FFS!
He never actually was a gobby thug chav....if you ever met him he's very quiet and somewhat withdrawn if anything....yup, he got drunk and did some silly things on a couple of occasions when out with his equally soppy pals....then again so do many youngsters.
He calmed down and matured is settled and is raising a family.
I wouldn't mind betting he's a somewhat likeable fella nowadays.

Forgive and forget is a well known saying but he has got a lot of baggage from the Woodgate incident and drugs to MacDonalds however if Hughes and Euell go, he could replace the pair of them..............just an observation not an endorsement.
  • Would have liked him at the start of the season but not now.
  • Definite no from me

  • Oh God no
  • Nope, not going to be better than what we've got
  • I think he will go back to Leeds shame as I would've loved to see him pull the jersey on again
  • Ipswich fans don't seem particuarly bothered about it. Can't see us signing him at all. Past it.
  • People talk about his character but I can't remember any real incidents with him at all since he went to Birmingham. If he was rotated I think he could add a lot to the the squad but I imagine he'd want much higher wages than he deserves so no.
  • Thankyou Dart.
  • 5 champions league goals to his name including a last minute winner v Milan

Not even Scott Parker got near those stats

    Still a no from me
