  • Paul Linger
    Joe Francis
    Rurik Gislasson (sic)
Rurik has played in Denmark since 2005 and he has done very well. In 2009 he came to my hometown team, OB, where he has continued to develop. He's a true favorite - he gives a 100%, when he's playing, and is talented and still young. It's a shame he didn't succeed here, he would be absolutely great in our squad right now.
  • Danny Cadamarteri
  • Remember Danny Warden getting slaughtered by the crowd at Ashton Gate. They didn't like his hair. He was never seen again.
    I remember that game :)
  • I don't think Jamie Stuart could have been. He proved time and time again, when he had to work hard at a performance past the adrenaline/euphoria of early games in his ultra-youth, he was shocking. Shit for us after first twenty odd games, shocking at Millwall after a half season. Unimpressive at Southend. One has to commend him though for working solidly and getting back to the League at 35 that's a real achievement. Always thought Sturgess' hard working nature was more likely to do it.

There was a lad at Sunderland around 91-93, something Keiron O'Brady. Unbelievable talent, better than any of their young players around that time, including Michael Gray. He was lauded by Sunderland fans, dissapeared in booze and injuries by '94, and said to be an alcoholic living in a bedsit. Was a sublime talent, but real tragedy. Always wondered where he wound up.

Whatever happened to that Belgian mid who we had on loan 99-00. Never made a first team appearance.
  • Josh Wright is doing very well at Millwall, has around 100 champ games under his belt. Not many youth Charlton players in the last couple of seasons have gone on to do that. If they play a 4-5-1, stroke 4-3-3, he'll have a good Millwall career. Not strong enough in a midfield two without someone on the edge of lung bursting dynamism.
  • how can you include the likes of Stacy Long, Charlie McDonald and Jamal Campbell Ryce in this thread. Ok they are not playing in the PL but they have decent careers as professional footballers and earn more than the majority on here.
  • Anybody remember Emeka Ifejiagwa? He was a centre back who'd played for Nigeria before turning up in SE7 sometime in the late 90's.

I thought Curbs had pulled off a real coup, but he never played a game for us.
  • John Stenson (1960's)
    Paul Bacon
John Stenson! Didn't he play for Penhill Standard?
  • Thought Paul Gorman would be good for us. Did he get a bad injury and had to pack up early?
He had a good scoring ratio in the few games he played.
  • Gorman seemed to do ok coming on as a sub but when he started he was fairly anonymous.

  • Chris Dickson - scorted a hat trick whilst on trial & then got 5 (I think) in a reserve game. I thought we had got the next D Bent for nothing.............
Likely to be playing in the Champions League next year.
  • Mark Tivey saw him score an amazing goal for the reserves one night in Welling.
I recall that goal.....didnt he end up at Bromley?
  • Anyone remember Cherno Samba who was on Millwall's books as a kid and was a prolific goalscorer? I think a team (Liverpool offered a lot (£2mn?) for him - he was all over the back pages - but Millwall wouldn't let him go - is that right? Anyway he's playing in the Norwegian 2nd Div now!
Im good mates with his ex PE Teacher who tells a great story of Cherno turning up late for a u15's London semi final on 75 minutes with them 1-3 down, a quick change and on for last 10 minutes and Cherno scored 5. His family trialed him around 5 top clubs in a week, after the Liverpool offer (Newcastle, Man u, Leeds, Man C & Everton) seeking the golden pay off, he was so burnt out none of them took him and he faded into Spanish 2nd division football before coming back to Plymouth, last i heard of him. A lesson there for all players and parents!!

Hes now playing for FK Tønsberg in the Norweigen second division. I bet Millwall regret turning down the 2 mill now.
