we hardly ever score from outside the box in open play & this was extra special as it was into injury time & we had been knocking on the door for ages and it looked like it was going to be one of these nights...........and it was a perfect strike. !!
best headed goal - v Preston. Danny Hollands. Peach of a cross from Wiggins. best free-kick goal - Yeovil v Charlton. Yann Kermorgant. A belter of a free kick. best shot goal - v Bury. Dale Stephens. Battered into the roof of the net. best move leading to a goal - Kermorgant flick on to Wiggins to cross for Russel to score.
Goal of the season - Dale Stephens against Bury.
Best goal scored against us - Wordsworth pile driver for Colchester.
I was quite partial to our third against Chesterfield. Perfect reverse pass from Yann, cross from Waggy, deceptively difficult header from BWP. Very much announced Yann on the scene
Some great goals, but in in all this year's goal of the season has to be a tie between JJ's free kicks against Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United. Both were brilliantly taken and in the space of a week confirmed to both sides of the whippet fancying capital of the world that their teams were playing for second placeat best.
Dale Stephens, with the pressure on him that late he could not have hit it sweeter.. I've never been so shocked to see a shot fly in, 99% of the stadium were expecting that to head into the North Upper where everyone else would then be leaving.
Jj free kick against sheff u for me. Thought his free kick against massive at hillsborough would take some beating but in my view the one he hit against sheff u at the valley was even better.
If Kermorgant meant that volley against Hartlepool I would have to go with that one.We have scored some great goals this season, everyone mentioned so far are right up there.

Stephens a close second purely for the bottle of taking the shot on.
