Goal of the season

I have just asked cafc official on twitter whether there would be a goal of the season competition this year and his reply was
@CAFCofficial: @sam_j_green There will be. I'm looking forward to finalising the shortlist... (MW)”
Which got me thinking, which out of the rip roaring goal scoring addicks goals would get your vote?
Mine would be either Stephens vs Bury or waggy vs bournemouth

  • JJ's free-kicks v SU and SW have to be in there...
  • Many to choose from, but JJ's FKs vs Wednesday and the Blades for the significance, Stephens vs Bury or Waggy vs Bournemouth for long range pearlers Russell vs Yeovil(?) for the build up from Kermo and Wiggins, sheer class
  • Sam3110 that was another I was trying to think of but couldn't quite remember Who scored and who it was against
  • This is nearly impossible, all mentioned so far have been great, let me throw in BWP home against the Wendies too.
  • Hollands v Preston at home...Wiggins just took the pi55 to set it up
  • Stephens vs Bury was a lovely hit
  • Waggy on day one.

Dale's against Bury was good but a lot more difficult to control a volley so Waggy wins my vote
  • Agree with SuperClive. I loved that header from Hollands v Preston!

So many good ones to choose from though!
  • how about four categories - best headed goal, best free-kick goal, best shot goal and best move leading to a goal - then pit them against each other.
  • Jackson at home to Sheff Utd, pearler of a free kick

  • BWP away at Carlisle......................
  • Stephens vs Bury was a laser-guided exocet. You just don't hit those any sweeter!

  • Waggy v Bournemouth - cushioned volley set up by Stephens not easy to do and almost as good as finish itself.
  • Just remembered......Morrison's pearler against Stevenage!! PING
  • hollands vs preston
  • It's funny - I sometimes it think it depends where you sit. I was in the West Stand for a perfect view of Stephens v Bury and in the East Stand for Morrison v Stevenage. I was right down the end of the West Stand for Wagstaff v The Cherries and it didnt look that wonderful, to be honest. Jacko at Sheff W was the one I enjoyed the most at the time.
  • BWP away at Scunthorpe
  • hollands vs preston
    yep
  • Hollands against preston.

Waggy up at hartlepool was also quality build up

Wright Phillips at hartlepool for tekkers where he done a cantona celebration

Bwp away at scunthorpe for build up

  • Waggy's in the first game of the season for the pure aesthetics of the goal - nicely set up and a scorcher of a volley followed by 'The Brick' celebration! But there are some great choices this year and I look forward to the shortlist.
  • Have to go with Waggy V Bournemouth too. Classy set up and classier finish
  • N'Guessan v Yeovil.

    :-)
  • Stephens vs Bury. A corker.
  • how about four categories - best headed goal, best free-kick goal, best shot goal and best move leading to a goal - then pit them against each other.
Best move - Waggy at Hartlepool

Best Header - Hollands at home v ??? from distance

Best outside the box Waggy v Bournemouth just ahead of Stephens v Bury

Cheekiest finish - Hayes back heel v bury at Home

best free kick - yann v Rochdale though hard not to pick Jacksons at Wednesday or home v utd

Best "it wasn't a cross honest" Green v Exeter and n'Gussen v Yeovil

best cross leading to a goal - Cook v Orient
  • Waggy against Bournemouth - but give the prize to Stephens, seeing that everyone thinks it was his goal :-)
  • best 'I know the keeper will do us a favour' Hollands home to Carlisle.
  • Waggy's for me too.
  • BWP away at Carlisle......................
This followed by whichever goal wins the league.
  • 'goal which wasnt a goal" Solly's which hit the bar and over but wasnt given
