I've had a bit of a soft spot for Leicester ever since my namesake went there in 1967 not forgetting, latterly, the great Radostin Kishishev.

  • In terms of player links I try picking teams of players who played for Charlton and another team , here's my stab at Leceister :

Simon Royce , Gary Rowett , Chris Powell ,Radistan Kischiev ,Micheal Morrison ,Matt Elliott ,Keith Gillespie ,Jim Melrose ,Yann Kermogant ,Andy Peake , Len Glover Subs Tony Warner (only an unused sub for the Addicks) ,Paul Konchesky ,Shaun Newton ,Paddy Mccarthy ,Martyn Waghorn , Dany N'Guessen, Paul Kitson.

Also we have had Paul Friar , Ben Thatcher and Marcus Bent . I've probably missed someone obvious.
Some great shouts there that i'd forget about!! How was Paddy McCarthy and Shaun Newton? I didnt realise Gillespie played for you!
Don't forget Ian King and Colin Appleton. I think Appleton captained Leicester City in the FA Cup FInal v Spurs.

  • I would imagine they ignored Waghorn's miss because he'd scored 12 goals for them and been crucial to them getting in the play offs?

Leicester fan, how's Pearson since he's been back with you? Seems like you're sorted now with an excellent shape. Saw you on saturday, thought your back four looked good, especially the center halves shame nobody could be bothered to put a tackle in on the first goal after one of the cd's had headed it. You reminded me a lot of Cardiff, well setup, but little imagination except you have no one like Whittingham who can score in a dull match.

Thought Morgan and Bamba could be one of the best champ defensive partnerships: find it a bit of a joke when Mills costs 3 million plus, and you can pick up Morgan for less than a third of that, whilst Mills couldn't pass to save him defending from his last shit ball.

Colin Appleton's ears were even bigger than those of Francis Jeffers!

Yeah Waghorn had a great season and played lone striker alot which was tough but he did it very well.

How come you saw us Saturday?

Bamba can be Prem class on his day then very amatuerish on other days. Morgan is fairly new but looks a beast.
We also have Matt Mills, Sean St Ledger and Tunchev who all are good defenders but there's been a fallout between Pearson and Mills, no one knows what... Mills is overpaid and overpriced and think its affected his form because he looked very good at times.

Im a huge Pearson fan but things havent gone as well as expected since he came back. However, he needs time to ship out some of the dead wood and bring in the young talent that he did before. We're defo not sorted yet though otherwise we'd be in the playoffs at least. Short of 2/3 quality players

  • Yann has got to be one of the best players that we have seen in years.
  • Chris, sad to say your lot let me down big time. I've had an accumulator running that would have paid life changing sums had I won. I named Man Utd, Charlton and Swindon as the winners of the Prem, L1 and L2 respectively, but my Championship tip was Leicester. You owe me thousands ;-)
  • Go along occasionally to the 'wall. I like Mills as a defender, and I'd be happy to have him cheap from the old shitty, but he's shite on the ball - about the only one in the Donny team - and never worth 2.5-3 million: a case of reputation over an intelligent scouting system, what a surprise Errikson.

To be fair, with the money we've spent we should be up there. However, money doesnt solve everything.
Reading/Southamption are good examples of teams that havent spent much and kept similar teams and built stability. Reading must be laughing at us getting 4m odd pound for Mills and still comfortably finishing above us!

  • If you continue making signings the quality of Marshall and Drinkwater then you should walk the league next season. The whole Thai thing is a little strange though, but I do think that about Abu Dhabi and Man City too though!
