With respect, you're questioning someone that has organised coaches on behalf of the club for years knowing the patterns, frequency and popularity of fans going to games, with a handful of people that have said they would probably have got a coach had there been one available 2 days before the event.
It's hard luck that its so expensive to go, its hard luck that the coaches are sold out. Do you expect extra theatre performances when a theatre sells out because a tourist that happens to be over for the weekend that it is on couldn't get a ticket?
If you read it Suzi it was said tongue in check and it only took redcarter 2 minutes to bite. Mind you one thing is it is getting very clickie on here now and if you make a comment in which isn't agreed with you are shot down rather than stepping back and looking at it and then making a comment.
I replied as soon as I saw your post and no idea why it took half hour to update so I didn't see that it was meant as a 'joke'. There are many people with that opinion for real so apologies for not realising you were joking. and feck knows what you mean about the clickie thing just because someone disagrees with your opinion you're labelled as a wum or in a clique. doing my head in. no one is allowed an opinion either way and for that reason, i'm oot.
also, i did read it, and i didn't read it as tongue in cheek. not sure why you thought I didn't read your comment. as if i hadn't read it - i wouldn't have feckin' responded.
Some that have been following us lately,i would rather stayed behind!!!!.....I suppose should lay on free travel to Carlisle for thousands of idiots to sing THE ADAMS FAMILY!!!!...... And yes i have been to every game, booked early, not just for the run in James.Enjoy life with the Lions!...
If the club really gave a sh*t about us fans they would have bought Carlisle and moved it to somewhere around Dartford so that we could all get home to our supper of fishfingers and oven chips.
It's been a long read but I've finally worked my way through this thread and quite frankly it's ridiculous. That fixture has been in the fixture list since last summer and the cheap train tickets have been on sale for around 3 months. As AB has described unlimited numbers of coach seats were available until yesterday afternoon, so the only people who are missing out are those who were unwilling to commit (fair enough, but don't moan about it if you leave it too late)
I find the argument about the additional coach particularly ridiculous. The club basically makes no money from away games and the only plausible reason it could have for promoting away travel is to generate support for the team. Try as I might I find it hard to believe that half a coachload of people who couldn't commit 3 days before the game is going to make much difference on top of the 1000 or so we are expecting to be there.
For anyone interested I also left it too late. I looked last night at flights etc. but with a couple of hotel nights thrown in I was looking at something like £1000 and would still need to leave at lunchtime tomorrow. Anyone got a spare for Wycombe?
You post something you describe as a bit contraversial, a couple of people disagree with you, the person whose job it is takes the time to explain the reasons, and from that you conclude that everything is a bit clicky !
I actually feel embarassed reading through some of the things on this thread. It's crazy the amount of people who didn't want to go to the game, and now at the last minute find a way of blaming the club/coach service for them not going.
You couldn't be bothered to go in the first place. I suspect a lot of people woke up only today or yesterday to realise how ridiculous the argument was not to go (it's too far blah blah), and just didn't want to admit it.
Charlton are absolutely fantastic to the supporters, year in and year out. If you didn't want to commit to anything until three days before the game then fine. But shame on you for putting the blame at the club's door.

Can I just vouch that wiwlb has been going to Carlisle for months , we had a travel feck up that meant the train was off , through no fault of our own, we made alternative arrangements before ab offeredd the train possibility
I think if cafc had put the chance to put a possible train trip to carlisle about 5 weeks ago that train would've sold out regardless of the actual importance of the gme
