Listen all I'm saying is that there's no point in having an almost ineffective player if he's not fit. Yes he set up the goal, yes he scored 2 crucial goals against Sheffield clubs and I was there to see them both but i'm concerned about Jacko with next season in mind, we have got away with it this season but we wont next season.
Message to "off it" - Charlton are the best team in England and we will win the prem in 2 years". Hope that makes you feel better knob
"Knob"? - done me again there.
You made a wanky comment and got pulled up for it by loads of people. But if you want to make it into a personal slanging match with me specifically then I'm game. But you'll have to up your game, son.
Gave up CL for lent. Was a bit weird following Charlton from afar as it were, but then threads like this make me realise that, unfortunately, CL can be a bastion for blind negativity, useless posts and unwarranted criticism. Which is a shame especially as we have 91 points and flying high.
Its not that bad Olster. This for example is one of those threads. But it is surrounded by hundreds of others. Sadly, nature makes thisstand out more.
I know how frustrating it is, but just learn to skim read everything that way you won't be disappointed with the stupid posts. When you see a poster name you respect, or a snippet of something that looks more interesting, then start to read a bit more studiously.
if there was an Olympic event called "back-tracking " Choice you'd win a gold medal.
So he's gone from being a "complete waste of time" to "Yes he did set up the goal" and "I'm concerned about next season"
Next season is next season. Your hero Powell will make the changes he sees fit for then but for now JJ is a knackered, not fully fit player but one who is still making a contribution.
Absolute bull of a thread. We won 1-0 and Jackson got the assist thanks to a quality ball in. Don't know why I'm even wasting my time responding to be honest.
I could not attend the game today but judging on Jackson this season and the past, I think that is a harsh statement to make.
He has been our key player since he joined us and deserves a lot of recognition. I thought he has been excellent. Yes he may have a bad game today (If he did) but thats no excuse to drop him because he had one or two bad games.

well dont then, piss off

im not backtracking at all, i dont think hes match fit and i dont think an unfit player should be playing. I said it was a waste of time playing an unfit player....not "Jackson is a complete waste of time"
choice....come on own up....which is it, drink or drugs....or both maybe? Have we ever seen such a ludicrous and shallow attempt at a back-track....well I'm struggling to remember one. You get more bizarre by the minute.
I don't think some people see what Jackson brings to the team.
Wingers, i mean genuine tricky/pacey wingers have about 1 good game in 3. Jackson is not a genuine winger, but he works hard, he keeps possession ticking over nicely and works well with Wiggins (who is allowed freedom to bomb up to LM with jackson slipping him in)
His deliveries from corners/set pieces is immense and for a midfielder he scores a very good number of goals.
If you're looking for a genuine pacey winger, he is not that but there's no reason why you need two genuine wingers if your system is right (David Beckham was never a pacey winger either)
So leaving aside the goals and assists that led him to be voted runner up in the player of the season contest for our division.
Today he set up the goal sent in several dangerous corners had a close header, thanks to an incisive burst into the box had a great shot tipped over linked up well with Wiggins who knows he has the freedom to roam down the wing when JJ plays
I don't think choice knows what his saying ... He's crap, He's unfit, he'll be crap next season, he did set up a goal today, I'm not saying he's crap, just crap when unfit ... Oh and crap next season ... Errrrrrrr

Complete waste of time playing Jacko, he's either injured or clearly not match fit. A waste of a position
where does it say that i think jacko is crap or he will be crap next season or that he is crap when he is unfit. oh and crap next season ?
Final comment to help anyone who doesnt understand what i originally posted
I personally dont feel that its worth playing an unfit player at such a crucial part of the season. Regardless of the fact he set up the goal today Jacko IMHO is nowhere near match fit and against a decent team would be a liability - and this would make his selection risky....we need 100% match fit players at this stage in the season. Hence the "we got away with it comment"...which we clearly did today as we didnt play well and Walsall had their chances. I dont wanna see our club captain burnt out before his time - and more importantly before next season in The Championship, which is far more important as IMO we will go up this season regardless of JJ playing the last few games.
Despite his age, Jacko looked 10 years older and at the end of his career, if we had played against Sheff Wed or Utd today and got undone down the right hand side then you would have all been on here moaning that CP shouldnt have played him.

I'd offer that advice to everyone.
