Drop Jacko

  • Valuable member of the team. No doubt we miss him when he's not there, and should be playing inside. REMEMBER HE DID SET UP OUR GOAL TODAY
  • Personally I thought Jacko had an excellent first half... yes he faded badly in the second but still not sure it justifies this thread!
  • Is there an echo in here...?
  • Pretty sure this thread is a wind-up....though to be honest, I'm not sure what the purpose is?
  • Thought jacko was pretty decent to be fair. Bwp on the other hand was well off the ball
  • Not fit but worth it for the set pieces and composure alone.

The one that had to come off today but didn't was Yann, he could hardly walk let alone jog from 40 minutes until about 70 with his ankle.
  • Posting absolute tripe about one of our best players and the man who has captained us to the brink of promotion, match fit or not = That is useless.

He did alright today, not his best game but he wasn't a liability in my eyes. If we get a penalty or free kick, I know exactly who I want stepping up to the plate.

If not a wind up may I take this opportunity to say the commment about JJ is absolute b*****s. An unfit JJ still worked his nuts off, got stuck when needed and set up the goal.
  • Ridiculous timing for this thread, though Jacko played well today, even tried a Messi in the first half , provided the cross for our goal..... Sink!!!

Jackson inspires confidence and has been a great captain. Not 100% fit but his presence and as ISLS say composure is essential. We look better with him playing.

Yann looks like he's been run over by stampeding horses. He's a giant of a figure for us. Wherever he goes on holiday in six weeks he's bloody earned it.

  • Everyone is fully entitled to their opinion, good or bad, we all see different things.

I just don't understand why when we are in the position we are in, with the season we have had. That this would be the first thing you put on the internet after another important win ????

We can't we just enjoy all the positives instead of seeking out negatives ?
  • Funny vibe on this forum tonight. Thought people would be in party mode but it's a bit nasty.
  • If pritchard hadnt have had his back turned and poked the ball in after Jacko's brilliant dribbling run you'd all be saying different.
  • Agreed Bart.........but I think this can only be a wind-up....no one could be that f'ing stupid....................................................could they?
  • Everyone is fully entitled to their opinion, good or bad, we all see different things.
Are they? Even when that "opinion" betrays a man with a serious chip on his shoulder about something or other - God knows what, don't really care - and is clearly designed to antagonise the vast majority of posters on the forum?

Strange if that's the case. I'll have to remember that.

  • He is clearly unfit but almost scored 2 goals today had he got to that header.

We would not be in this position without him
  • Wasn't sure if the person posting this was serious, but then he can't be! Jackson was our top scorer last season (if I recall correctly) and in SCP's opinion the only player from last year's team who deserved to keep his spot. Been a great captain all season and 12 goals and 5 assists in 31 games speaks for itself. His goals won us arguably the two most important games of the season against the Sheffields and today he's come back and set up another one! No sane person could consider dropping him.

Don't know if CP will have JJ in the starting 11 or on the bench next season, but there's absolutely no reason we wouldn't want him to stay at the club - he clearly takes pride in being Charlton's captain and imho could make a crucial contribution in the Champ. I do believe he could be moved in to CM though.

See that 'choice' has buggered off now and left a bad vibe around the place.
  • What I don't understand are the "rules" some come up with.

A wide midfielder must have pace to play in the Championship. Some of our best midfielders in the Prem didn't have pace, yet played out wide.

We will not get promoted with centre backs that are under 6 ft 2.

    Chris Solly is too short.

    etc.

It's about having good players. A good player can be effective in a different way than the more typical pacey winger or tall defender.

I have doubts about all our midfielders being top Championship players, but Jackson is one who can play a part in us competing at that level (rather than fighting relegation).

  • League one player of the year runner up. I think he'll be fine in the champ.

Got what he wanted then ... complete WUM ... great result today and his reaction is to moan about a player that gives everything ... Jackson probably hasn't been totally match fit lately but I thought he did pretty well today overall ... Inspires others in the team and a big asset
  • something inside so strong i know that i can make it
  • nolly...........what % proof is that cherry wine?
  • Don't be so ridiculous who would take our penaltys?
  • Listen all I'm saying is that there's no point in having an almost ineffective player if he's not fit. Yes he set up the goal, yes he scored 2 crucial goals against Sheffield clubs and I was there to see them both but i'm concerned about Jacko with next season in mind, we have got away with it this season but we wont next season.

Message to "off it" - Charlton are the best team in England and we will win the prem in 2 years". Hope that makes you feel better knob

  • "Got away with it".

    Brilliant.

Yes but what has Jacko ever done for us ? ;0)

  • Gave up CL for lent. Was a bit weird following Charlton from afar as it were, but then threads like this make me realise that, unfortunately, CL can be a bastion for blind negativity, useless posts and unwarranted criticism. Which is a shame especially as we have 91 points and flying high.
  • better, knob!
