I like Hayes. I was always happy to support him during his one good touch, two bad touch, two good touch performances even if some (and I don't mean anyone here, I mean the types who always have a moan at the ground) liked to scapegoat him, but people are maybe going a bit overboard here. Dropping Yann, he of two (-ish, let's not get pedantic) assists against Yeovil and a number of brilliant performances leading to us topping the league for a player who scored a few goals for Wycombe isn't wise management. I get that people think Yann might need a rest but I reckon that bloke could run all weak if he had to. Hayes should come in on the bench and he should get on the pitch as well, but it would be a bad move to drop the big fella
Can imagine Wycombe fans aren't very happy with us right now, especially as the loan window shut yesterday. I know he's our player but it's a bit of poor form by us to say yesterday we had no intention of recalling and now we do.

Powell also reiterated his stance on striker Hayes after the in-form striker was again linked with a return to SE7 following an impressive spell with Wycombe Wanderers.
"There's no chance on Paul," Powell said. "His 28 days are up on Friday.
"I've spoken to Gary Waddock a couple of times and he's in a very good place.
"He's helping them in their quest to stay in the division, and he's scoring goals and obviously getting match-time. I wouldn't want to ruin that.
"When players are in a good place, you want to keep them there because you get the best out of them," he added.
"I always knew that loaning out Paul would be beneficial to him and to Wycombe if he does the job they want, which he is clearly doing.
"But also the benefits would be to us after those 28 days if I needed Paul back, because I've then got a fit and hungry Paul Hayes who has scored a few goals and is confident in his play.
"I would only do that if he was going into my starting XI or matchday 16. It would be wrong of me to bring him back and then he is not involved when he could be there playing.
"So there is a balance for us now. But he is our player and I can call him back at any time."
Didn't sound like he was coming back yesterday but maybe Kerms or BWP have a injury
We already knew yesterday that Jacko, Haynes were unfit and N'Guessan unable to last 90 mins, Henry.
But in CP's Thursday press conference, he gave no indication that he was bringing Hayes back straight away (at the very first opportunity)...... and certainly gave the impression ("Hayes is in a good place and that's the best place for him right now"), that if he did so, then it would be perhaps later in the season.
To keep Huddersfield guessing perhaps? No point telling them a week in advance that we're going to recall Hayes just before we play them.
Still can't see where CP has said we 'wouldn't' call him back........the 28 days are up today and he clearly said after that period "if I needed him back he'd be fit and hungry". So a mixed message there really....though I agree with you that Wycombe are probably well cheesed off. I'd say something has happened to change CP's mind on the matter to the point where he wants him back right away.......tough on them yes, but hardly 'poor form' on our part either, especially as we don't know what's going on behind the scenes.
Recalling Hayes might make Hudders' think we have an injury to BWP or Kermo and start rethinking their strategy for tomorrow. Even if that isn't true though, I doubt they'll be too pleased at the prospect of facing a striker who's scored 6 in 6 (as well as BWP with his 7 in 7 is it?).
"Many have symnpathy for us with how this has all been done. Few mixed reactions on him coming back, some don't understand it, some delighted, others not so keen.
But I agree that we needed Doherty more as he is the biggest leader and character we have on the pitch at present."
Got that from a wycombe forum.............had to laugh about the Doc comment. He seems to be liked there.
Paul Hayes is delighted to be back ! He wanted to come back and be part of the squad for the run in and to continue his contribution to the success we all crave. CP now has more options for the final push. Danny Haynes is still not expected to be available for the next few games as he is only going to resume full training next week.
he has earned a spot on the bench and should see plenty of minutes to come. there is no way he deserves to start over kermy. whoever is saying that is ridiculous. kermy was only vital for 2 of the 3 goals against yeovil and has been motm in half his games this season...so lets put him on the bench .. right? lmfao...
im excited to see how hayes gets on after a terrific loan spell!
It's nice having a sharp, match fit striker on the bench, as with the settled front two, our reserve strikers have tended to be rusty and lacking match fitness.
I imagine that Kermorgant will be working his socks off tomorrow, chasing back, defending from set pieces etc so a fresh, sharp striker coming on with 20 minutes to go will be very useful.
You're all a bit touchy today aint ya! Powell will not drop Kermorgant unless he is injured; I'd say he's easily technically the best player we have. Wouldn't change the front two unless we play kerm just in behind, but then we'd lose the width in midfield

Some boring stats for consideration, which I think are right but I don't mind being corrected! And apologies for length of post. Anyway, by my reckoning Yann has started every league game since Oct 8, at home v Tranmere. Of the 27 league games we've played since he got into the team, Yann has failed to play the full 95-ish minutes on only two occasions (unlike BWP, JJ, Green etc) - Hartlepool on 29 Oct when he was subbed on 81 minutes, and Huddersfield on 28 Nov, when he was subbed on 90 mins. No doubt that with that in mind, SCP probably would like to give him a rest before the end of the season, particularly as he's played 10 full games in 35 days and every league minute since November. But SCP also knows that given the strikers at his disposal, the only realistic option to give Yann a break is to start with Hayes, so better get him back in the club and in the swing sooner rather than later, because he knows he's going to use him to start at some point soon. So I don't think the notion of resting (rather than dropping) Yann for Hayes is that crazy. It might not be tomorrow necessarily, but maybe against the O's, who Hayes scored against 2 weeks ago for Wycombe. Or then again, SCP might figure that given that we have a bit of a cushion and Hayes is bang in form, he could chance it against Huddersfield and keep Yann in reserve if it looks like it's going TU and he needs to 'go more direct'. After all, worst case scenario at 5pm tomorrow is that we end it 8 points (or a minimum of 3 wins for our rivals) clear of 3rd place with 7 games to go.
