I seem to remember him him as quite an exciting player who was not fully fit and got a lot of rough treatment which went unpunished by referees at the time. I'm certainly happy to give him the beneift of the doubt (there are some of that era I wouldn't)
Yes that's right Talal I want him to fail. Honestly. Why would any Charlton fan want that? Can you genuinely see fans being patient with him after his pathetic performances for us last time out, when he sulked because QPR didn't want him

I think you will find he was at Fulham at the time
Think he'll do ok, not convinced he's this awful player and level or two below Green, Wagstaff or Ephraim.
Been said many times the balance of Pardew's squad was awful. It got worse the following season and we then got relegated. Cook was one of many attacking midfielders with similar weaknesses, many weren't reliable especially defensively. Fine if used in the right way, a real struggle if too many of them play together just as we did.
Difference is we are top of the league and have solid players who will battle like Taylor, Hollands, Yann etc, the type that should compliment players like Cook.

I just don't see the need for all the negativity, as has been stated earlier in the thread the Lee Cook of today is likely to be different from the one we saw and we're a different club now. Give the guy a chance, and by that I don't mean give him one substitute appearance where not a lot happens resulting in him being written off because of 'zero patience'.
Pleased we have signed him, will be different to the last time as he is hopefully fully fit and ready for first team football. Showed at Orient he can do a good job at this level and will have a point to prove we hope.
Type of player we possibly need as should provide plenty of crosses for Yann.
Southampton Addick was being positive and slating the people writing Cook off not you Madz.
We all know he was poor but that was then, this is now. He may be great or he could be poor again. Lets wait and see and not boo him until at least 15 minutes into his debut (that was a joke)
There are people on this site who do attack others for making comments especially if they don't agree, which was happening a lot in this thread. I wasn't the only one who thought you were being serious.

Madz don't worry about it. To avoid any doubt I was agreeing with you.

He's certainly got a point to prove, after his disappointing previous spell here. And his QPR career looks to be over too, especially if they stay up, so Championship football at the Valley next season would be an attractive proposition if he can impress in this loan spell
Initially, I was in the "he's sh!t. He was sh!t for us last time so he'll be sh!t", but having read all the comments I say "give the lad a chance - it's 5 years on - a lot can change in 5 years".

He is the type of player that got us in this position now give him a chance to help get us out.
Cannot wait till tomorrow night.
Get the Valley bouncing.

With a nippy winger who doesn't defend much JJ could tuck back in behind to cover.
Now we have these two new loan signings I am excited
And he's not tall enough either.
Get rid.
Powell out.

They do say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.
And well done to all those that spotted my actual meaning. I didn't think it was that complicated.
Plus I'm old and don't know the symbols for smileys or winks etc.
I knew what you meant, but couldn't be arsed to point it out.
it's a thumbs up for me cos of where we are and he is reasonable back up
Welcome back Lee and Good Luck.
All history though, he's our player again and starts with a clean slate as far as I'm concerned.
